The mayor of Pittsburgh is speaking out after Morgan Wallen<\/strong><\/a> recently canceled his concert in the Pennsylvania city.<\/p>\n

Hours before he was scheduled to hit the stage, the 33-year-old country music singer announced that he was canceling his Saturday (June 6) concert<\/a> in Pittsburgh, citing forecasted scattered thunderstorms in the area.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter talking with local officials and my team, there is no choice but to cancel tonight\u2019s show due to severe adverse weather conditions expected throughout the rest of the day and night,\u201d Morgan<\/strong> wrote in a statement on social media. \u201cSafety for my fans and crew is the highest priority. Refunds available at point of purchase.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Pittsburgh mayor Corey O\u2019Connor<\/strong> has now claimed that Morgan <\/strong>had \u201cno contact\u201d with city officials prior to canceling his concert.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was no contact to Public Safety or my administration, so however the artist and his team picked to not have the show, that was on them,\u201d O\u2019Connor<\/strong> said KDKA Radio, according to Audacy<\/em><\/a>. \u201cIf you\u2019re going to say that you consulted \u2026 that\u2019s one story. We, again, had no record of that, from public safety director all the way down.\u201d<\/p>\n

O\u2019Connor <\/strong>further claimed that he heard that the venue, Acrisure Stadium, was not notified of the last-minute cancellation in advance.<\/p>\n

After initially canceling the Pittsburgh show, Morgan<\/strong> doubled down on claims that local officials advised<\/a> his team to cancel the show.<\/p>\n

If you didn\u2019t see, Morgan Wallen<\/strong> is facing major criticism for his behavior at two recent concerts. After a technical issue at one concert, he flipped a piano<\/a> and at another show, he threw a fan\u2019s phone<\/a> across the stage.<\/p>\n
