Tina Fey has discussed her experience of ageing<\/p>\n
The 56-year-old actress thinks it’s hard to really understand what it means to age until you go through it yourself.<\/p>\n
The Mean Girls star told the Today show: “I feel like it\u2019s a reverse puberty in a way. It\u2019s like your body starts to change and be disgusting in new ways.<\/p>\n
“When you\u2019re 12 or 13, you\u2019re like, \u2018Why am I so oily?\u2019 And now you\u2019re like, \u2018Why am I so papery?\u2019”<\/p>\n
Tina has enjoyed huge success during her career, starring in TV shows like Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock. And Tina admits that she’s keeping an open-minded, optimistic approach to her future.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I\u2019m hoping that things will just continue to present themselves. There definitely are other forms of writing that still interest me. I\u2019d love to write a play.<\/p>\n
\n“I\u2019d love to maybe write in prose in another form. But I also just like sitting still in a chair and drinking coffee outside.”<\/p>\n
\nTina previously revealed that she’s keen to “help new voices get in the mix”.<\/p>\n
\nThe actress admitted that she has mixed feelings about her long-term future in the film and TV business.<\/p>\n
\nShe told The Hollywood Reporter in 2025: “The impulse to hide and retire is very strong because I do think it\u2019s time to help new voices get in the mix.<\/p>\n
\n“It\u2019s something I\u2019m already doing, but I want to do more. Even on the walk over here I was like, \u2018I am so tired of hearing from me. Surely everyone else is tired of hearing from the same people over and over again.\u2019”<\/p>\n
\nTina also observed that she has “no sense for the business”.<\/p>\n
\nThe TV star – who wrote Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, a hit sitcom about a woman who escapes a bunker after 15 years in captivity – explained: “I\u2019ve never had the brain to be like, \u2018You know what the market\u2019s looking for these days? Twins!\u2019<\/p>\n
\n“I don\u2019t know how to work backwards. The fact that I tried to follow 30 Rock with Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt shows you I have no sense for the business.”<\/p>\n
