Jason George<\/strong> revealed if there are plans for him to return to Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/em><\/a> for season 23 after the show went through multiple cast exits.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI think I can confirm that Ben is coming back,\u201d George, 54, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> at the MPTF NextGen Summer Party on Sunday, May 31, confirming his involvement in the hit show\u2019s next season. \u201cI\u2019m pretty certain I\u2019m coming back.\u201d<\/p>\n

George, who has played Ben since season 2010, praised the show\u2019s creative team<\/a> for knowing when to help the story evolve, adding, \u201cThey\u2019re not afraid to make the hard decisions in terms of story to keep the story as fresh and alive as possible. But they do it with respect.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor broke down the process of a cast exit.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs early as possible \u2014 as soon as you\u2019re thinking about it \u2014 you\u2019ll get a call and a conversation,\u201d he explained. \u201cI remember when I got called to do the spinoff for Station 19. I thought it was a call to [say], \u2018Sorry, man, we\u2019re writing Ben off the show.’\u201d<\/p>\n

George continued: \u201cI\u2019m thankful because there are shows in Hollywood \u2014 you hear the stories \u2014 where you find out that you\u2019re leaving the show at the table read. You\u2019re completely notably blindsided. I love the fact that my bosses try to give as much respect as possible in that regard.\u201d<\/p>\n

Going into season 23, George is \u201cnot worried\u201d about a potential looming exit.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cEvery show that gets on the air gets canceled someday,\u201d he continued. \u201cIt\u2019s just a matter of if people treat it with respect while you\u2019re going along the path. So that\u2019s what I have and that\u2019s a good time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Season 22 of Grey\u2019s Anatomy faced plenty<\/a> of cast shakeups as the show reduced the minimum guarantees for its veteran cast members to 14 out of its 18 episodes per season. Kim Raver<\/strong> and Kevin McKidd<\/strong>, meanwhile, surprised viewers when they exited the show.<\/p>\n
