\nThe 26-year-old actress\u2019 representative confirmed the sad news in a statement to Us Weekly. <\/p>\n
\nThey said: \u201cDue to recent interest in Mika’s personal life it would feel remiss to not address that (she) and Jake are no longer together.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThey continue to support each other and remain on friendly terms, and kindly ask for privacy and respect.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nMika last posted about her other half on her Instagram page on 20th November last year. <\/p>\n
\nWhile she and Jake had never confirmed their engagement, his manager Brian Medavoy broke the news on Instagram in May 2025, when he wrote: \u201cAn awesome day yesterday celebrating the next chapter for my longtime client, Jake Short and his fianc\u00e9e Mika Abdalla.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cFrom set to real life \u2013 watching your journey has been a joy. Here’s to forever.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nMika and Jake first met on the set of teen comedy Sex Appeal back in 2021, and started dating after portraying couple Avery and Larson on screen. <\/p>\n
\nSpeaking about how the romance started on The American High podcast in 2024, Mika said: \u201c’I came over just to say hi, and we ended up talking, not about the script, just talking and getting to know each other for hours.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI was like, wait, this guy is actually really cool and sweet and great.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nMika has become something of a household name thanks to the huge, worldwide success of Off Campus. <\/p>\n
\nWhile the first season focuses on the romance between Ella Bright\u2019s Hannah and Belmont Cameli\u2019s Garrett, the second will be about Mika\u2019s character Allie\u2019s relationship with Dean Di Laurentis, played by Stephen Kalyn. <\/p>\n
\nSpeaking about the upcoming episodes to Us Weekly, Mika previously said: \u201cEven though we do tease Dean and Allie a lot earlier than people expect, you are still left wanting a lot more.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd that\u2019s something I\u2019m really excited about. You just want to see more.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nOff Campus is based on the books by Elle Kennedy and Mika said she was excited to get stuck in to the character even further in the second season. <\/p>\n
\nShe explained: \u201cI\u2019m just really looking forward to digging deeper into who Allie and Dean are. They both kind of have these fronts, these personas that are hard to kind of crack through. They are kind of stereotypes of themselves, if that makes sense. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cBut in the books, there\u2019s so much beneath the surface of Dean and there\u2019s so much beneath the surface of Allie.\u201d<\/p>\n
