Ronnie Wood<\/a>.<\/p>\nMick, 82, was asked whether fans could expect to see the band touring again in the near future, and replied: \u201cI\u2019d love to go on tour. Can\u2019t wait.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mick added: \u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s going to be this year, but hopefully as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n
The frontman, whose career with The Rolling Stones has spanned more than six decades and produced classics including Paint It, Black, Gimme Shelter and Sympathy for the Devil, made the comments as the Stones prepare to release their 25th studio album, Foreign Tongues, on 10 July, following the Grammy-winning success of 2023\u2019s Hackney Diamonds and the band\u2019s 2024 North American tour. <\/p>\n
\nThe forthcoming record has already generated significant attention, with collaborations from Sir Paul McCartney, The Cure frontman Robert Smith and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith. <\/p>\n
\nRecent promotional events for the album have seen Mick and his Stores bandmates Keith Richards, 82, and Ronnie, 78, appear alongside comedian Conan O\u2019Brien in Brooklyn to discuss the project.<\/p>\n
\nWhile no Rolling Stones dates have been announced, Ronnie recently returned to the stage with a solo tour across the UK and Europe, marking his first solo run of shows in more than 16 years. <\/p>\n
\nKeith also addressed the possibility of future touring during an interview last month.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI mean, we can talk next year. Possibly.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAt the moment we\u2019re just sort of saying we finished the record, let\u2019s do this. And so we\u2019re basically considering what to do after, you know, pretty soon. But I don\u2019t think\u2026 Not this year, anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe band\u2019s future plans have become a major talking point among fans as The Rolling Stones continue to defy expectations more than 60 years after their formation. <\/p>\n
\nRecent reports surrounding Foreign Tongues have suggested the album was recorded in an intense burst of sessions in London and features 14 tracks, including contributions from the Stones\u2019 late drummer Charlie Watts, who died in 2021 aged 80.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking previously about maintaining the stamina required for recording and performing in his eighties, Mick said: \u201cWell, that\u2019s just being fit. You have to work at that, whatever age you are, and if you\u2019re my age you have to really work at it. You don\u2019t get around as good. You have to really work at it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHe continued: \u201cIt\u2019s just discipline and a lot of hard work \u2013 otherwise you can\u2019t do that. And of course, I can\u2019t do the things I did when I was 21, but I can do other things.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDiscussing the recording of Foreign Tongues during the Brooklyn launch event for the record, Mick said: \u201cWe had 14 great tracks and we went as fast as we could.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nKeith added: \u201cIt was a month of concentrated punch. To me, it\u2019s all about the enjoyment of it. I\u2019m blessed to be able to do this and long may it last.\u201d<\/p>\n
