The Rolling Stones guitarist, 82 \u2013 whose career has spanned more than six decades \u2013 is celebrating the arrival of a new generation after his granddaughter Ella Richards, 30, revealed she had welcomed her first child with her long-term partner Sascha von Bismarck. <\/p>\n
Ella announced the birth of her daughter, who she is calling Luna, by sharing the family milestone with fans on social media.<\/p>\n
She posted a photograph of herself beside her newborn daughter on Instagram and described the occasion as her \u201cbest birthday yet\u201d.<\/p>\n
Ella said: \u201c30!! Best birthday yet with our baby girl Luna.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe announcement marks a significant moment for one of rock music\u2019s most famous dynasties. <\/p>\n
\nLuna is the first child of Ella and Sascha, the photographer son of Count Leopold von Bismarck-Sch\u00f6nhausen and fashion designer Countess Debonnaire von Bismarck. <\/p>\n
\nThe birth of Luna\u2019s child means Keith joins his Rolling Stones bandmate Sir Mick Jagger, 82, as a great-grandfather, after the singer became one in 2014.<\/p>\n
\nKeith\u2019s family news arrives during a busy period for the Rolling Stones. <\/p>\n
\nThe band, whose catalogue includes classics such as Satisfaction, Paint It Black, Gimme Shelter, Jumpin\u2019 Jack Flash and Start Me Up, continue to attract global audiences more than 60 years after forming. <\/p>\n
\nRecent attention has focused on the group\u2019s new studio album, Foreign Tongues, which featured a contribution from Sir Paul McCartney.<\/p>\n
\nElla first revealed her pregnancy in March with a black-and-white image showing her baby bump. <\/p>\n
\nAt the time, Keith reacted publicly to the news by saying: \u201cSending love and looking forward to welcoming my first great grandchild!\u201d<\/p>\n
\nMessages of congratulations quickly followed Ella\u2019s birth announcement. <\/p>\n
\nPrincess Olympia of Greece wrote about the baby: \u201cThe most beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nElla\u2019s sister Alexandra Richards, 38, also marked the occasion, saying: \u201cHappy happy birthday \ud83d\ude42 30s are the best.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nElla is the daughter of Marlon Richards and former model Lucie de la Falaise. <\/p>\n
\nHer father is Keith\u2019s eldest son from his long relationship with model and actress Anita Pallenberg, who died in 2017 aged 75.<\/p>\n
\nIn a previous interview with Tatler, Ella offered a rare glimpse into family life with her grandfather.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cHe is very quiet and sweet and loving. He\u2019s a lot more shy than people think.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking about her unconventional upbringing, she added: \u201cMy grandfather used to wear my grandmother\u2019s clothes, and she used to wear his.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cMost of my family are slightly mad and crazy or weird. My whole family are all crazy creatives. No one is academic. Everyone is wild and free-spirited.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nElla rose to prominence as a model aged 18, appearing in a Burberry campaign photographed by Mario Testino, alongside Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn. <\/p>\n
\nShe later joined the Kate Moss Agency and went on to work with fashion houses including Prada, Calvin Klein, Fendi and Valentino.<\/p>\n
\nDiscussing her relationship with Kate, who is also her godmother, Ella said: \u201cI feel very lucky to have someone who\u2019s been through it all and can guide me.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI can go and talk to her about things and she completely understands \u2013 I don\u2019t really need to explain anything.\u201d<\/p>\n
