Rod Stewart<\/strong><\/a> is following through on the doctor\u2019s orders.<\/p>\n

\u201cFollowing his doctor\u2019s advice, Rod Stewart has regretfully canceled his performances at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on May 29 and 30, but is scheduled to return with shows beginning June 2,\u201d a representative for Stewart, 81, told local media outlet the Las Vegas Review<\/em> <\/a>in a Friday, May 29, statement.<\/p>\n

Stewart was scheduled to perform at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Friday, May 29, and Saturday, May 30. The outlet noted that Stewart\u2019s cancellation was due in part to a sinus infection.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy apologies to my family of fans,\u201d a separate statement from Stewart read. \u201cI am on vocal rest as I recover from a sinus infection. I look forward to seeing you at a future show at Caesars Palace or on tour this summer.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tRod Stewart announced that he had to cancel his milestone Las Vegas residency show after coming down with strep throat. \u201cI\u2019m desperately sorry to miss this 200th show celebration,\u201d the singer, 79, wrote in a statement shared via Instagram on Wednesday, August 7. \u201cMost people can work with strep throat but obviously not me. I\u2019m [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Ticketmaster also issued a message to fans, reportedly sharing that refunds are being offered to those who had tickets for the canceled shows.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n

The performances were part of Stewart\u2019s The Encore Shows for his Las Vegas residency. The concert series was scheduled to span from May 27 to June 6, returning again from August 18 to 29.<\/p>\n

In 2024, Stewart shared that he would be ending \u201clarge-scale world tours\u201d but had \u201cno desire to retire.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI love what I do and I do what I love,\u201d he wrote via Instagram<\/a> at the time. \u201cI\u2019m fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79. I\u2019d like to move onto a Great American Songbook, Swing Fever tour the year after next \u2014 smaller venues and more intimacy. But then again, I may not.\u201d<\/p>\n

Currently, he\u2019s in the midst of his final residency, The Hits, at the Colosseum at Caesar\u2019s Palace in Las Vegas, but he has no plans of slowing [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The next year, Stewart announced via Instagram<\/a> his One Last Time<\/em> shows spanning from March in Connecticut to August in Kansas City, Missouri.<\/p>\n
