Vasana Montgomery<\/strong> will not be headed to the Love Island USA<\/em><\/a> villa as planned.<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/em> has learned that Vasana, 25, has been cut from the season 8 premiere on Monday, June 2, due to two resurfaced social media videos where she appeared to use the n-word. In one video, she purportedly sings along to a song that includes the slur whereas she allegedly says \u201cknock knock, n*****\u201d while playing an arcade game in a second clip.<\/p>\n

Us<\/em> understands that both videos were recorded for private social media so would not have been vetted by Love Island<\/em> producers before her casting. Both clips have since been leaked publicly following the Love Island<\/em> season 8 casting announcement, with numerous fans subsequently calling for her removal from the Peacock dating competition.<\/p>\n

Vasana was part of the official cast<\/a> unveiled on Thursday, May 28, with the Beaverton, Oregon, native boasting in pre-release teaser about what she\u2019d bring to the villa.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I am the full package,\u201d she boasted. \u201cI own a business; I live alone; I have a dog. If you were to ask my friends what my type is, they\u2019d show you the world map.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the eve of Thursday\u2019s casting announcement, Love Island<\/em> shared a statement<\/a> asking viewers not to engage in \u201cnegativity\u201d about the cast.<\/p>\n

Love Island<\/em> faced two similar scandals in 2025. First, Love Island USA<\/em> narrator Iain Stirling<\/strong> announced in season 7\u2019s second episode that islander Yulissa Escobar<\/strong> \u201cleft the villa\u201d<\/a> after podcast clips of her allegedly using racial slurs circulated online.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst, I want to apologize for using a word I had no right in using. Podcast clips from years ago have recently resurfaced, and I want to address it directly,\u201d Yulissa wrot<\/a>e via Instagram on June 6, 2025. \u201cIn those clips, I used a word I never should\u2019ve used, a racial slur.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yulissa, 28, added of the offensive podcast clips, \u201cI used [a slur] ignorantly, not fully understanding the weight, history, or pain behind it. I wasn\u2019t trying to be offensive or harmful, but I recognize now that intention doesn\u2019t excuse impact. And the impact of that word is real. It\u2019s tied to generations of trauma, and it is not mine to use.\u201d<\/p>\n
