Warner Bros. has announced the official title for the upcoming sequel to A Minecraft Movie<\/strong><\/a><\/em>. <\/p>\n

The first movie was a surprise box office smash hit in 2025, earning nearly $1 billion at the worldwide box office, fueled by the YouTube generation and the Chicken Jockey scene<\/a> that caused audiences to go crazy in movie theaters. <\/p>\n

Warner Bros. is currently working on a sequel, which will be released in theaters on July 23, 2027.<\/p>\n

The sequel will be titled, A Minecraft Movie: Squared<\/em><\/h3>\n

The news was announced by Warner Bros Motion Picture Co-Chair Michael De Luca<\/strong> during a conference on Saturday (May 30), according to Deadline<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Jason Momoa<\/strong><\/a>, Jack Black<\/strong><\/a>, Danielle Brooks<\/strong><\/a>, and Jennifer Coolidge<\/strong><\/a> are all returning for the sequel with Kirsten Dunst<\/strong><\/a> and Matt Berry<\/strong><\/a> joining the cast. <\/p>\n

Back in August 2025, Kirsten <\/strong>voiced publicly that she wanted to be in the sequel and then her dream came true later on. At the time, she told Town & Country<\/a><\/em> that her kids loved the first film and, \u201cMaybe I can just make a movie where I don\u2019t lose money?\u201d<\/p>\n

Jared Hess<\/strong> is returning as director for the sequel. He’s also the director of the beloved comedy Napoleon Dynamite<\/em>. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
