Kennedy<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n On Friday (May 29), which would have marked JFK<\/strong>\u2018s 109th birthday, Maria<\/strong> reacted to a federal court ruling involving the Kennedy Center<\/a> and President Donald Trump<\/strong><\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper<\/strong> ruled that Trump<\/strong>\u2018s name has to be removed from the Kennedy Center and halted the planned renovation plans that would have closed it down for two years.<\/p>\n Maria<\/strong>, who is the daughter of JFK<\/strong>\u2018s younger sister, Eunice Kennedy Shriver<\/strong>, shared her thoughts in a post on X following the decision.<\/p>\n \u201cAn appropriate birthday present on my uncle\u2019s birthday today,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n \u201cA federal judge ruled that President Trump <\/strong>and the Kennedy Center Board acted unlawfully in renaming the Kennedy Center. The judge held that only Congress can change the Center\u2019s name and blocked the planned two-year closure. I know they\u2019ll probably appeal and the story isn\u2019t over, but for today let\u2019s celebrate a great birthday gift.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Cooper<\/strong>, a judge who was appointed by former President Barack Obama<\/strong>, issued a 94-page ruling finding actions taken by the Kennedy Center\u2019s board of trustees violated the law governing the institution. The ruling reportedly ordered Trump<\/strong>\u2018s name to be removed within 14 days and blocked renovation plans that would have resulted in a two-year closure.<\/p>\n\n
