Brooke Shields<\/strong><\/a> grew up in the limelight \u2014 and felt the intense scrutiny<\/a> at a young age \u2014 so having her daughter become a reality TV star wasn\u2019t exactly a dream come true.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve probably [been] a reality TV person in my life for my whole life,\u201d Shields, 60, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> while promoting her all-new mystery series, You\u2019re Killing Me<\/em><\/a>, on Acorn TV.<\/p>\n

Shields noted that the public had \u201cthat kind of access to me\u201d as a child actress and model, so the idea of being followed by a camera on reality TV has \u201calways been part of my unfortunate world.\u201d (Shields landed her first gig at just 11 months old, making her debut in a commercial for Ivory Soap.)<\/p>\n

Fans now having that much access to her daughter Rowan Francis Henchy<\/strong><\/a>, who is a new cast member for season 2 of Next Gen NYC<\/em><\/a>, was honestly alarming for Shields in some ways.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was very hesitant, I was very worried, I was very concerned,\u201d Shields confessed, noting that she very much trusts her daughter and knows Rowan, 23, has a good head on her shoulders.<\/p>\n

Shields recalled her advice for Rowan, telling her eldest child<\/a>, \u201cYou\u2019re an adult, I can\u2019t tell you what to do, but what I can tell you is, do not make this the end of your career, make it the beginning.\u201d (Shields shares Rowan and daughter Grier Hammond Henchy<\/strong>, 20, with husband Chris Henchy<\/strong><\/a>.)<\/p>\n

The Blue Lagoon<\/em> star<\/a> did offer some words of wisdom, advising Rowan to \u201cfind a way to parlay this\u201d into something more than just a stint on reality TV.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tBrooke Shields is an accomplished actress, model and author, but her most beloved gig is being a mom. The Suddenly Susan alum shares daughters Rowan (born in May 2003) and Grier (born in April 2006) with husband Chris Henchy, whom she married in 2001. Though the New York native often shares joyful updates about the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Shields told her daughter to be \u201csomething and somebody that makes sense to networks and makes sense to entertainment,\u201d explaining that entertainment and broadcast journalism is the \u201cworld\u201d Rowan \u201cwants to go into.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress also warned Rowan that \u201cyou can ruin\u201d your future and career with \u201cone bad behavior night.\u201d<\/p>\n

While fans will get to see Shields in a cameo for season 2 of Bravo\u2019s Next Gen NYC<\/em><\/a>, which premieres on June 24, Rowan is the one who will be front and center alongside OG stars Ariana Biermann<\/strong>, Riley Burruss<\/strong>, Emira D\u2019Spain<\/strong>, Brooks Marks<\/strong>, Ava Dash<\/strong>, Gia Giudice<\/strong>, Georgia McCann<\/strong>, Charlie Zakkour<\/strong>, Shai Fruchter<\/strong> and Hudson McLeroy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Rowan won\u2019t be the only newcomer on the show, which follows 20-somethings living in the Big Apple, Liam Obergfall<\/strong> and Kendall White<\/strong> are also joining the cast.<\/p>\n

Although Shields wasn\u2019t totally on board with the idea of Rowan being a reality TV star, she did jump at the chance to work with her in an acting role. Rowan made a special cameo on Hallmark Channel\u2019s When Calls the Heart<\/em> earlier this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes the best tip is to just get out of their way,\u201d Shields exclusively told Us<\/em> in February<\/a>, noting Rowan had \u201cdone plays in college\u201d but acting on screen was new.<\/p>\n

Thank you for always being my rock,\u201d Rowan, 22, wrote via her Instagram Story on Saturday, May 31. Rowan shared multiple family photos in honor of [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

On the show, Shields reprised her role as Charlotte Thornton<\/a>, while Rowan appeared in the final scene, sitting next to her mother as the women left Hope Valley and went back to the big city.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought she did so well,\u201d Shields shared with Us<\/em> at the time, explaining that the Hallmark writers \u201ckept adding lines for her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although Rowan\u2019s future in entertainment is still being written, Shields is well-established as an actress. Her most-recent venture, You\u2019re Killing Me<\/em>, has helped Shields bring life to a character who is her own age in a world in which not everyone trusts or respects someone in their 50s and 60s.<\/p>\n

Shields plays best-selling novelist Allie, who teams up with a Gen Z podcaster and aspiring writer Andi (Amalia Williamson<\/strong>) to solve murders in a small New England town.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted this woman to be able to exemplify that type of power and value that does happen to a 50 or 60 year old woman,\u201d Shields told Us<\/em> <\/a>of what she wanted to bring to Allie. \u201cAnd that her intelligence, her experience, her sensitivity, and attention to detail and kindness, those are things that created a woman in this generation. I know multiple women like this, and they\u2019re all being given the same message, which is, \u2018You had a good run. Thank you. You\u2019re done.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
