He thinks the Halls, father M.L. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/al-pacino\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Al Pacino<\/strong><\/a>) and son Richard (<strong>Dacre Montgomery<\/strong>), cheated him out of money from a land development deal that went sour, and he thinks they should compensate him. They believe otherwise, so Tony does what many powerless men have done before or after him \u2014 he resorts to crime to get what he wants. But by kidnapping Richard at gunpoint and holding him hostage, he creates a media circus that amplifies his need to be seen as a working-class hero. Will Tony\u2019s time in the limelight get the apology \u2014 and money \u2014 he desires? Or will it end in a hail of bullets and Tony six feet under?<\/p>\n<p>To paraphrase a classic <strong>Oingo Boingo<\/strong> song, it\u2019s a <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/7345048\/dead-mans-wire-true-story\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Dead Man\u2019s Wire<\/em>, and who can ask for more? Based on a true story<\/a>, this underappreciated 2025 film is a gripping thriller that plays out almost in real time. Everyone can relate to Tony\u2019s frustration \u2014 he\u2019s an everyman that been used by \u201cThe Man,\u201d and his actions create a mass-media frenzy that demands a dramatic ending. I won\u2019t reveal if that happens or not, but what I can state is that the film features another fine performance from Skarsg\u00e5rd, who proves he can play more than demonic clowns, ancient vampires and other assorted boogeymen.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/browse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Dead Man\u2019s Wire<\/em> is streaming on Netflix.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Ferrari\u2019 (2023)<\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ferrari - Official Trailer (2023) Adam Driver, Pen\u00e9lope Cruz, Shailene Woodley\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wOX91Hqlcx0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s 1957, and Enzo Ferrari (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/adam-driver\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Adam Driver<\/strong><\/a>) has already conquered the European automobile industry. But life at the top isn\u2019t so stable for him, and when Ferrari opens, he\u2019s experiencing several crises that threaten to overwhelm him. His estranged, mentally unbalanced wife, Laura (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/penelope-cruz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Pen\u00e9lope Cruz<\/strong><\/a>), is still mourning the loss of their only son, while his loving mistress, Lina (<strong>Shailene Woodley<\/strong>), pushes him to give their illegitimate son his last name. To make matters worse, his business is failing, and the only way to save it is to merge with another company. The only problem is that he can\u2019t do that without Laura\u2019s approval, and she\u2019s still mad at him for having an affair and not acknowledging their son\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re expecting a racing drama like <em>Ford v Ferrari<\/em>, think again. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/everything-to-know-about-the-ferrari-biopic-starring-adam-driver\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Ferrari<\/em> <\/a>is more concerned with painting a portrait of the titular man at a crucial moment in his life when he could lose everything \u2014 his family, his fortune and most importantly to him, his reputation. Driver does a terrific job at portraying the two sides of the entrepreneur: the mysterious public figure and the private man still nursing a private heartbreak. The movie\u2019s final act <em>does<\/em> feature a thrilling car race that features one of the most spectacular crashouts I\u2019ve seen in modern films. It\u2019s gripping, brutal and unforgiving, which is an accurate description of the entire movie itself.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/title\/81674654\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Ferrari<\/em> is streaming on Netflix.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Domestic Disturbance\u2019 (2001)<\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Domestic Disturbance (2001) Trailer #1 | Movieclips Classic Trailers\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/21w6R51GeRI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div id=\"news-block\">\n<div class=\"newsletter-form  \">\n\t<br \/>\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/wp-content\/themes\/us-weekly\/assets\/img\/newsletter-bg-wide.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"newsletter-form__background background-wide\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<div class=\"newsletter-signup__success\" aria-live=\"polite\">\n<h3>Thank You!<\/h3>\n<p>You have successfully subscribed.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>12-year-old Danny (<strong>Matt O\u2019Leary<\/strong>) isn\u2019t too pleased that his divorced mother, Susan (<strong>Teri Polo<\/strong>), is marrying another man, Rick (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/vince-vaughn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Vince Vaughn<\/strong><\/a>). He doesn\u2019t quite trust Rick, but he doesn\u2019t know why. His suspicions prove to be accurate when he witnesses Rick murdering an acquaintance from his past. Danny goes to the police, but due to his juvenile delinquent background, no one quite believes him, except for his estranged father, Frank (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/john-travolta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>John Travolta<\/strong><\/a>). But Frank needs time to get proof to convince the authorities to arrest Rick, and that\u2019s time Danny and his unsuspecting mother don\u2019t have before they become his next victims.<\/p>\n<p><em>Domestic Disturbance<\/em> is a B-movie thriller that is as simplistic as it looks. Rick is capital \u201cB\u201d bad, and he\u2019s motivated by nothing more complex than he\u2019s a bad guy doing bad things for the hell of it. The movie works because of how committed the performers are in their roles. Vaughn clearly relishes playing a villain, while Travolta shows off his noble side as an ex-husband who still wants to reconcile with his wife.
