Landman<\/em> has hinted at a connection<\/a> between Sam Elliott<\/strong>\u2018s T.L. and his stripper-turned-therapist Cheyenne \u2014 but will they hook up in season 3?<\/p>\n

\u201cI love that you mentioned Francesca [Xuereb]<\/strong>, because she\u2019s overlooked in most all of this stuff that we do,\u201d Elliott, 81, told Variety<\/em><\/a> on Tuesday, May 26, about his scene partner. \u201cAnd she was a dream to be around, not only to work with, but she\u2019s just a lovely girl.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor expressed his hope<\/a> that the duo maintain a \u201cwholesome\u201d relationship, adding, \u201cI have no idea what Yana Grebenyuk Taylor [Sheridan] has in mind for that character. I hope it just remains what it is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Inspired by the \u201cBoomtown\u201d podcast series, Landman<\/em> centers around the West Texas oil industry, with a specific focus on crisis executive Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton<\/strong>) and his family. Tommy\u2019s dad, T.L., was introduced in season 2 and his story line has since involved scenes with Cheyenne.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTaylor Sheridan\u2018s Landman introduced Cheyenne as a stripper turned physical therapist to Sam Elliott\u2018s character \u2014 but who is actress Francesca Xuereb? Sheridan got his start as an actor before shifting focus to writing for the small screen, which paved the way for Yellowstone\u2018s success. The hit series, which aired from 2018 to 2024 expanded [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThe stuff that [Taylor] writes for me, so far, has been from the heart,\u201d Elliott shared with the outlet. \u201cIt\u2019s a lot of fun to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

After previously working with Sheridan on 1883<\/em>, Elliott was thrilled to come back<\/a> for Landman<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201c[With T.L.\u2019s story line], it\u2019s just on the page. I had time to think about it. I just wanted to be open to whatever comes my way,\u201d he explained to Variety in November 2025. \u201cWhen you have that kind of material, you don\u2019t look at a piece of material, or at least I don\u2019t look at a piece of material, and say, \u2018I\u2019d really love to cry here,\u2019 or, \u2018Really love to make the audience cry,\u2019 or whatever. It just has to come naturally.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the time, Elliott shared how he related<\/a> T.L.\u2019s story to his own life.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve spent a good portion of my life growing up in the outdoors, and there\u2019s something about Taylor\u2019s material that I feel like it hinges on that in some respect. That really speaks deeply to me,\u201d Elliott explained. \u201cIt\u2019s this man connected to the ground, what comes up out of the ground. It\u2019s certainly not like 1883 where we\u2019re out in the elements and all that all the time, but there\u2019s something about what I value personally.\u201d<\/p>\n
