Sex and the City<\/em><\/a> alum turned politician and activist Cynthia Nixon<\/strong><\/a> has had quite a storied career. She has worked as an actress since 1980 and went through several phases over the years \u2014<\/span> but has she ever undergone plastic surgery?<\/p>\n Her looks have hardly changed over the years, and Cynthia appears to be aging gracefully. She\u2019s never commented on getting work done, but she has shot down rumors about the subject.<\/p>\n After a New York publication reported in June 2008 that she had undergone breast enhancement surgery<\/a>,\u00a0\u201cI was at\u00a0St. Luke\u2019s-Roosevelt Hospital for my \u2018three-monthly\u2019 checkup,\u201d the breast-cancer survivor told the\u00a0<\/span>New York Daily News<\/em><\/a>. \u201cI was in the oncology department. I guess they think that means \u2018plastic surgery,’\u201d she quipped.<\/p>\n \u201cWe got a call asking if I\u2019d had breast augmentation, and my publicist laughed at them and said, \u2018No, of course not.\u2019 But they printed it anyway. If I was going to get a boob job, wouldn\u2019t it make sense that I\u2019d get it before Sex and the City<\/em>?\u201d she said, referring to her numerous topless scenes<\/a> on the HBO show.<\/p>\n \u201cYes, I had breast cancer, but I had a lumpectomy. Some women have reconstructive surgery, but mine did not merit that,\u201d the Emmy winner added, saying, \u201cThe story was totally false. It would be annoying and disheartening in any case, but particularly because I\u2019ve been so open about my breast cancer.\u201d She was diagnosed in 2006 and underwent six and a half weeks of radiation therapy following her lumpectomy.<\/p>\n Cynthia has battled the inflammatory skin condition rosacea, which causes rash-like reddened skin often on one\u2019s nose and cheeks. \u201cI had my rosacea diagnosed about five years ago, and it made such a difference in my life,\u201d she told Marie Claire<\/em><\/a> in an April 2022 interview. Prior to her diagnosis, she mistakenly thought her facial issues were acne related. \u201cEverything I was doing to try to improve my skin was really exacerbating the problem,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n Now the\u00a0And Just Like That\u2026<\/em><\/a>\u00a0star limits such things as spicy foods and red wine to help keep rosacea breakouts at bay while drinking plenty of water. Cynthia has also changed her skincare routine<\/a>. \u201cI do spend a lot of time moisturizing with creams and also with oils. And I carry stuff with me during the day to make sure my skin stays hydrated,\u201d she told the publication.<\/p>\n Cynthia also goes easy on treating her facial skin. \u201cI wash my face once at night and that\u2019s it. I\u2019ve gone from kind of giving my skin a workout to kind of treating my skin more like a princess that needs to be pampered,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n
