The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives<\/em><\/a> executive producer Jeff Jenkins<\/strong> weighed in on whether Taylor Frankie Paul<\/strong><\/a> and her estranged ex Dakota Mortensen<\/strong><\/a> will return for season 5.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Taylor is] just made for this,\u201d Jenkins, 58, told Variety<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on Wednesday, May 27. \u201cTo share her life on camera, she does it like breathing air. She doesn\u2019t edit herself. She\u2019s really built for this type of lane. So I\u2019m very hopeful that she\u2019ll be back very soon, and I\u2019m hopeful we can do all sorts of other projects with her as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Filming temporarily shut down on season 5 of Mormon Wives<\/em> in March when Taylor, 32, and her ex Dakota, 33, were involved in multiple domestic violence scandals<\/a>. New bodycam footage emerged of a 2023 incident that led to Taylor\u2019s arrest<\/a> and subsequent agreement to plead guilty to a third-degree felony count of aggravated assault. (ABC cancelled plans to air Taylor\u2019s season of The Bachelorette<\/em> when the 2023 bodycam footage came to light.)<\/p>\n

Taylor and Dakota were both investigated for a new domestic investigation that took place in February, though Utah officials ultimately declined to pursue charges<\/a> against her.<\/p>\n

In the middle of her multiple legal battles, Taylor temporarily lost custody of son Ever, 2, to Dakota pending a June 1 court hearing and both parties were granted restraining orders<\/a> against each other for a period of three years. (Taylor also shares two older children \u2014 daughter Indy May Paul and son Ocean Paul \u2014 with her ex-husband, Tate Paul<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n

Speaking to Variety<\/em>, Jensen admitted that Mormon Wives<\/em> faces challenges in documenting Dakota and Taylor\u2019s stories because of the recent court orders.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you watched the live feed from the judge\u2019s courtroom, both Dakota and Taylor have stay away orders now that are official, so fortunately or unfortunately, whatever your perspective, we won\u2019t be able to shoot with them together, ever again, or at least for a very long time,\u201d Jensen said. \u201cBut I\u2019m very hopeful that we\u2019ll be shooting with both of them or either of them very soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTaylor Frankie Paul shut down reports that claimed she won\u2019t be filming season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Us Weekly confirmed on Tuesday, April 21, that cameras started rolling again after a brief pause due to Taylor\u2019s legal issues with ex Dakota Mortensen. A report later surfaced that Taylor, 31, and Dakota, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The producer reiterated that Disney has given \u201cthe green light to start moving towards shooting\u201d Mormon Wives<\/em> again, while the cast are \u201cexcited to get back in there and get back at it.\u201d However, Jenkins admitted the MomTok ladies have \u201cstrong opinions about the last two months and those opinions are every perspective you can imagine.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s going to be very interesting when we start back up any day now. How does that sort out? We\u2019ve got to shoot together to sort it out,\u201d he insisted. \u201cBut once that all sorts out, how is that going to impact the friendships, the relationships, and MomTok as a whole? I don\u2019t have the answer. I\u2019m excited to see.\u201d<\/p>\n
