\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Barry Manilow<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about his sexuality.<\/p>\n The 82-year-old singer, who came out as gay in 2017<\/a>, reflected on his life and career, and why he didn\u2019t come out of the closet sooner after privately marrying his longtime manager and partner Garry Kief<\/strong><\/a> over a decade ago.<\/p>\n Barry Manilow<\/a>\u00a0thinks his career may have looked different had he come out sooner.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was a non-event. Nobody gave a s\u2013t,\u201d Barry <\/strong>said of coming out to the LA Times<\/a>, and whether the world felt different afterward.<\/p>\n \u201cThey all knew. I never really hid it, but in the \u201970s and \u201980s, that would have killed the career, and I didn\u2019t want to do that. So I just never talked about it,\u201d he went on to say.<\/p>\n He and his husband have been together for over 47 years.<\/p>\n
