Mackenzie Shirilla<\/strong>\u2019s boyfriend Dominic Russo<\/strong> allegedly addressed his mortality four weeks prior to her 2022 car crash that killed him.<\/p>\n

According to a Tuesday, May 26, report by TMZ<\/em><\/a>, Russo, who died at the age of 20 in a high-speed crash<\/a> caused by Shirilla, 21, sent the convicted killer a text that read, \u201cKenzie you know I love you but I don\u2019t think we should be together at this point, there isn\u2019t very much time on earth,\u201d before his death.<\/p>\n

Shirilla, who is the subject of Netflix\u2019s The Crash<\/em> documentary and currently serving two concurrent life sentences behind bars as a result of the incident, has maintained that the July 2022 crash was the result of blacking out behind the wheel due to postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS). Her friend Davion Flanagan<\/strong> also died as a result of the incident. (POTS is described by the Cleveland Clinic<\/em><\/a> as a condition that affects transitioning from \u201clying down to standing up, such as a fast heart rate, dizziness and fatigue.\u201d)<\/p>\n

The outlet\u2019s screenshot of Russo\u2019s alleged text went on to detail the nature of their volatile romance. \u201cI\u2019d like to think we could stop fighting but it\u2019s a breakup fight every week neither of us deserve,\u201d the screenshot read. \u201cI don\u2019t wanna fight all the time [and I know] you don\u2019t either. Anyone who\u2019s around anyone every day of the week is bound to fight. If we can\u2019t separate for a little then we are only going to fight more.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tFollowing the release of Netflix\u2019s The Crash, a former inmate claimed that Mackenzie Shirilla is nothing like the remorseful prisoner she\u2019s depicted as in the true crime documentary. \u201cWhen she walked out in the documentary, my jaw literally dropped, because her demeanor and the way that she looked was nothing like the person I was [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The alleged text concluded, \u201cI don\u2019t want you to think I\u2019m abandoning you, I wish it could work, but I don\u2019t think it\u2019s going to at this point especially with the threats. We should just break up so we can both find happiness somewhere else.\u201d<\/p>\n

The outlet stated that the text was sent on July 2, 2022. The car crash occurred<\/a> in the early morning of July 31, 2022.<\/p>\n

Shirilla went to trial in 2023 and was convicted of 12 felony charges including four counts of murder, four counts of felonious assault, two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and one count each of drug possession and possessing criminal tools. Prosecutors argued that the incident was a botched murder-suicide attempt, pointing to the vehicle\u2019s speed of 100 mph and the absence of braking before the vehicle slammed into a brick wall.<\/p>\n

Mary Katherine \u201cKat\u201d Crowder shared claims about what Shirilla, 21, was really like in prison following the release of Netflix\u2019s The [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In the Netflix documentary, which was released on May 15, Shirilla was filmed from behind bars<\/a>. She expressed remorse for the deaths of Russo and Flanagan while stating that her POTS diagnosis caused the crash.<\/p>\n
