The Love Me Like You Do singer welcomed daughter Iris – her first child with partner Beau Minniear – into the world in March, and is also mum to four-year-old son Arthur with ex-husband Casper Jopling. <\/p>\n
Opening up about balancing work and motherhood, Ellie told The Sun that she is keen to encourage a strong interest in music in her kids, and has started them both from their early days. <\/p>\n
She said: \u201cIt\u2019s such a joy. <\/p>\n
\u201cI love playing music to them, especially classical music.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nEllie also used the interview to offer fans an update on her highly-anticipated sixth studio album, after dropping her single titled Black Prada Dress. <\/p>\n
\nSpeaking about her musical progression, she explained: \u201cI\u2019ve spent the past few years working really closely with a brilliantly talented producer and multi-instrumentalist called Jack Rochon.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI actually found him on TikTok when he was still relatively undiscovered, living in Canada. He\u2019s since moved to LA and worked with Beyonce.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI immediately connected with what he was doing creatively. I have always loved discovering emerging talent and championing new voices, just like I did when I first started out and discovered Starsmith.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWe\u2019ve recorded hundreds of songs together, and I loved the freedom of exploring different sounds, feelings, thoughts and experiences.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt felt really organic and honest, like journaling through music.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAs for the inspiration for the new record – the follow up to her 2023 album Higher Than Heaven – Ellie insisted there isn\u2019t \u201cone definitive experience\u201d that inspired it. <\/p>\n
\nInstead, she explained that the songs on the album are directed at the “negative, critical voice bringing you down”. <\/p>\n
\nShe mused: “And that voice could be your own, internal voice \u2014 that self-critical, destructive one.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI feel like we all have one of those, just like we have different versions of ourselves. I love the honesty of it, the rawness, and I hope people can connect to it in their own way.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nEllie spoke to The Sun after performing at BBC Radio 1\u2019s Big Weekend music festival, which was this year held in Sunderland. <\/p>\n
\nFans were delighted as she performed hits including Still Falling For You and Lights, before debuting Black Prada Dress live for the first time.<\/p>\n
