Gordon Ramsay has said that the defining lesson he has instilled in his six children is one of the simplest \u2014 and, he argues, the most valuable \u2014 as the television chef continues to balance a high-profile broadcasting career with family life<\/p>\n

The sweary TV chef, 59, made the remark while speaking in an interview with Fox News Digital about what he sees as the essential foundation of his children\u2019s upbringing amid a period of continued success across his television empire, after Fox recently renewed his programmes including Hell\u2019s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, Next Level Chef, Next Level Baker and Gordon Ramsay<\/a>\u2019s Secret Service. <\/p>\n

Known globally for his exacting standards on shows such as MasterChef and Hell\u2019s Kitchen, Gordon shares six children with his wife Tana Ramsay<\/a>, 51 \u2013 Megan, 28, Holly, 26, Jack, 26, Matilda, 24, Oscar, seven, and Jesse, two.<\/p>\n

Gordon said: \u201cThe one thing I\u2019ve taught them all, brilliantly, are manners.\u201d <\/p>\n

He added: \u201cThe most important thing in life, but they cost zero.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nThe comments come as Gordon continues to speak publicly about his children\u2019s individual paths, particularly Matilda Ramsay, who is pursuing a culinary career. <\/p>\n

\nSpeaking to People in February while discussing his Netflix series Being Gordon Ramsay, he said: \u201cFood, restaurants, this industry, you really need to want it, and Tilly was banging the door down.\u201d <\/p>\n

\nHe added: \u201cI have to give her credit for that.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cAnd finally, one out of six wants to be a chef, which has made my entire f****** year.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nMatilda, known as Tilly, opted to attend culinary school in Ireland rather than train under her father \u2013 a decision Gordon has publicly praised as evidence of commitment to the profession he has long dominated through flagship series such as MasterChef and Hell\u2019s Kitchen.<\/p>\n

\nFamily life has also been visible on Gordon\u2019s social media. <\/p>\n

\nOn 16 May, he marked Megan Ramsay\u2019s 28th birthday with a post on Instagram, writing: \u201cHappy Birthday to this beautiful woman, @megan_jane_7. Every day you make me so proud with what you and how much you do for others, love you so much Dad.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nWith a TV schedule spanning multiple international productions, Gordon has drawn parallels between his programme output and parenting. <\/p>\n

\nSpeaking to PEOPLE at the Fox Upfront event on 11 May, he said: \u201cI have six shows on air right now. That’s like saying, I have six kids as well, what’s my favorite kid? It depends \u2013 it’s the one that least p***** me off at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n
