Euphoria<\/em><\/a> started its newest episode off with Sydney Sweeney<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s Cassie topless again in a graphic sex scene<\/a> \u2014 and ended with a shocking death.<\/p>\n

During the penultimate episode on Sunday, May 24, Cassie wasn\u2019t able to get her OnlyFans account back. She had to build back her followers by scheming with Maddy (Alexa Demie<\/strong>) to hook up with actor Dylan (Homer Gere<\/strong>). After they had sex, Cassie secretly uploaded a photo of them together to his social media account in order to drive business to her sex work.<\/a><\/p>\n

This marked the most recent instance<\/a> of the HBO show having Sweeney strip down for a scene. In the final season, viewers have been surprised by the amount of times Sweeney\u2019s character was seen in a topless scene. (Late in Sunday\u2019s episode, Cassie\u2019s husband Nate (Jacob Elordi<\/strong>) was killed off in a gruesome twist<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

Cassie\u2019s arc in season 3<\/a> also received criticism after some OnlyFans creators weren\u2019t thrilled with how their line of work was portrayed on screen. Creator Sam Levinson, however, defended the decision to push boundaries.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Cassie] has got her dog house and her little dog ears and the nose, and that has its own humor,\u201d Levinson explained to The Hollywood Reporter in April. \u201cBut what makes the scene is the fact that her housekeeper is the one filming it.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cWhat we wanted to always find is the other layer of absurdity that we\u2019re able to tie into it so that we\u2019re not too inside of her fantasy or illusion,\u201d the 41-year-old added. \u201cThe gag is to jump out, to break the wall.\u201d<\/p>\n

Levinson broke down how he and director of photography Marcell R\u00e9v brought the scenes to life.<\/p>\n

\u201cAn obvious choice would\u2019ve been something modern and very plain and fancy, but we ended up choosing this mid-century home, which is a little tacky, but also stuck in the \u201870s,\u201d R\u00e9v explained. \u201cIt\u2019s probably a strange choice, but also it gives us possibilities. OnlyFans has its own aesthetic and how you elevate that aesthetic to the show\u2019s aesthetic is a challenge. I\u2019m not going to lie.\u201d<\/p>\n
