Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/em><\/a> is branching out with a spinoff set in Texas \u2014 and one alum is already pitching themselves for the show.<\/p>\n

Leven Rambin<\/strong>, who played Mark Sloan\u2019s (Eric Dane<\/strong>) estranged daughter, Sloan, took to Instagram on Wednesday, May 20, saying, \u201cNow, hold on just a minute. Grey\u2019s Anatomy Texas spin-off? Are you kidding me? They were going to try to do a Texas spin-off and not tell me about it? Nope. No, no, no. Mmm, mm.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rambin, 36, showed on screen that she was already in the area.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201c[Creator] Shonda [Rhimes], I\u2019m literally in Texas right now,\u201d she added. \u201cThis needs to happen. This is perfect. We\u2019ve been manifesting this. I think I\u2019ve manifested a little too close to the sun and got Grey\u2019s Anatomy to come to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tABC has ordered a Grey\u2019s Anatomy spinoff set in rural Texas \u2014 but how many other follow-up shows have there been? The medical drama, which premiered in 2005, is focused on the personal and professional lives of surgical interns, residents and attendings at the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital a.k.a Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital a.k.a [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

ABC confirmed that a follow-up to Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/em> will be set in rural West Texas. The upcoming series will be cocreated, written and executive produced by Rhimes and Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/em> showrunner Meg Marinis. Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/em> star Ellen Pompeo<\/strong> is also executive producing the new offshoot, which will premiere midseason 2027.<\/p>\n

The show will be built around a new group<\/a> of doctors but likely would be connected to Grey\u2019s<\/em> via one or more characters \u2014 potentially Debbie Allen<\/strong>\u2019s Catherine Fox.<\/p>\n

Rambin, for her part, recently played Audrey on CBS\u2019 hit series Fire Country<\/em>. She was written off the show before season 4 came to an end but Rambin has shown interest<\/a> in reprising the role.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a fire show. Anyone can go at any time,\u201d showrunner Tia Napolitano<\/strong> told Us Weekly<\/em> in October 2025 about the show\u2019s character deaths and departures. \u201cBut in terms of losing people, we\u2019re also adding some really fun guest cast. It\u2019s a revolving door of people from Sharon\u2019s past and new faces that are exciting to bring conflict and secrets and twists and turns.\u201d<\/p>\n
