Real Housewives of Orange County<\/em> star Emily Simpson<\/strong><\/a> is coming clean about her weight loss \u2014 and how she used Ozempic to \u201ckickstart\u201d her journey.<\/p>\n \u201cWe finished filming in November of 2022, which was eight months ago. When we finished filming, I had sort of a nervous breakdown,\u201d the reality star, 47, explained on SiriusXM\u2019s The Jeff Lewis Show<\/em><\/a> on Wednesday, June 28. \u201cI think I just went for four months hard when we were filming and I ate too much, drank too much, and just didn\u2019t get enough sleep, didn\u2019t exercise.\u201d<\/p>\n Simpson told Jeff Lewis<\/strong> that she wanted to let her followers know that she didn\u2019t just shed pounds \u201call of a sudden\u201d in a \u201cvery short period of time\u201d despite what they are seeing on season 13 of RHOC<\/em>.<\/p>\n After seeing a doctor amid her depression and weight gain, \u201cI did a full blood panel,\u201d Simpson shared. \u201cMy cholesterol was high. I have zero testosterone. I was pre-diabetic, so she actually said, \u2018Why don\u2019t you do a semaglutide?\u2019 which is Ozempic, so I did. I did that in December.\u201d<\/p>\n The California resident added that she was on Ozempic for one month. (Per the FDA, Ozempic and Wegovy, another semaglutide, are typically used for chronic weight management<\/a> or to aid in a weight-related condition such as type 2 diabetes.)<\/p>\n Though Simpson said her Ozempic use was a \u201cgreat kickstart for me \u2026 [to lose] five to seven pounds,\u201d she ultimately went off the drug because it \u201cmade me feel lethargic and it made me just not have a lot of energy, which was hard with three little kids.\u201d Emily and husband Shane Simpson<\/strong> share daughter Annabelle, 10, and twin boys Luke and Keller, 7. (Shane is also the father of two daughters from a previous marriage.)<\/p>\n While Emily is one of several Housewives \u2014 including Dolores Catania<\/strong><\/a> and Margaret Josephs<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 to now admit to using a semaglutide or a similar drug for weight loss, she previously appeared to shut down the claims<\/a> from fans who accused her of using Ozempic.<\/p>\n \u201cYou don\u2019t know me and nothing will \u2018revert back\u2019 bc my arms are jacked from heavy lifting,\u201d Emily responded to her followers via Instagram on Friday, June 23.<\/p>\n Emily went on to tell Jeff Lewis<\/strong> that she had liposuction on her arms, revealing that her arms had \u201calways bothered\u201d her, so she got a \u201cnew\u201d liposuction treatment. She also got a breast reduction.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I healed from that and I came out of it, you know, eight weeks later or whatever, I looked completely different. \u2026 I felt like it was just a huge difference in my overall look just to have the thinner arms and just the smaller chest and I was so happy with the surgery, and I have so much muscle underneath that when he did the liposuction, my arms were just jacked,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n Still, it wasn\u2019t just the immediate weight loss from Ozempic and the plastic surgery that changed her look<\/a>, Emily explained. \u201cOnce all [the fat from my arms] was gone, I was like, \u201cDamn, you can tell I\u2019ve been working out for all these years,\u201d she said. \u201cI was so inspired by seeing this muscle that I just hard-core went a completely different route with food. I became very conscientious of what I was eating. I changed my diet completely.
