Miles Teller claims he swore off press profiles after feeling \u201cviolated\u201d by a 2015 Esquire cover story that labeled him as \u201ckind of a dick.\u201d<\/p>\n
“That was so mishandled. The reason why I have not done profiles is because I said, ‘Wow, if I\u2019m not doing this interview on camera, this person can misquote things or put things out of order or say things that didn\u2019t happen.’ It felt like such a violation of what actually transpired. I told my team, ‘Guys, I don\u2019t think I\u2019m doing this again, because I\u2019m reading this and this doesn\u2019t sound like me to me. This is not life, so why would I ever want to be a part of something where they can just put that in?’ So it\u2019s unfortunate that being a good person, that doesn\u2019t sell. People want to click on the negativity. If you go to bed and put your head on your pillow and how you treat people truly, that\u2019s what matters. That [2015] interview was like 12 years ago.”<\/p>\n
He added, “The actors, the directors, the crew, the producers, you can\u2019t hide who you are when you\u2019re on set.”<\/p>\n
After this, journalist Jim Vejvoda recounted an awkward press tour moment where Miles responded to a question with \u201cMy dick!\u201d<\/p>\n
