While he\u2019s teased running for a third or even a fourth term<\/a> as president, he is constitutionally banned from doing so. <\/p>\n On Wednesday (May 20), he came up with an alternative option for his second act. Speaking to the press, he alluded to a possible political future in Israel. In fact, he said that he was interested in running to become the country\u2019s prime minister.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m right now at 99% in Israel. I could run for prime minister,\u201d he said<\/a>. \u201cSo maybe, after I do this, I\u2019ll go to Israel and run for prime minister. I had a poll this morning; I\u2019m 99%, so that\u2019s good.\u201d<\/p>\n The current prime minister of Israel is Benjamin Netanyahu<\/strong>. In the same conversation, Trump<\/strong> described his political ally as \u201ca wartime prime minister.\u201d He added, \u201cI just don\u2019t think they treat him well.\u201d <\/p>\n It\u2019s unclear what poll the president is citing regarding his near-perfect approval rating in Israel. In the U.S., the most recent Times\/Siena poll revealed that only 37% of Americans approve of his actions in office. His disapproval rating sits at 59%. <\/p>\n The New York Times<\/a><\/em> noted that his approval rating had dropped four points from the start of the year, the last time that a Times\/Siena poll was conducted.<\/p>\n His low rating is in relation to the ongoing war in Iran, which Trump<\/strong> started in late February. The military action against the country resulted in soaring gas prices and inflation. <\/p>\n Despite Americans paying more, the president has consistently said that the costs would go down<\/a> and argued that it was a worthy cause to suffer high prices to stop Iran from achieving nuclear abilities.<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t the first time that Trump has toyed with continuing his political career<\/a> outside of the United States. <\/p>\n In April, he told the press that he had similarly high poll numbers in Venezuela after he executed a military strike on the country that resulted in the detainment of the country\u2019s president Nicol\u00e1s Maduro<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cSo after I\u2019m finished with this, I can go to Venezuela. I will quickly learn Spanish. It won\u2019t take too long; I\u2019m good at language. And I will go to Venezuela.
