Khlo\u00e9 Kardashian<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about certain regrets over her two cats, Grey Kitty and Baby Kitty.<\/p>\n

The Kardashians<\/em><\/a> star, 41, revealed on the Wednesday, May 20, episode of her \u201cKhlo\u00e9 In Wonder Land\u201d<\/a> podcast that she had her pets declawed, a practice that involves the \u201csurgical amputation of all or part of a cat\u2019s third phalanges (toe bones) and the attached claws\u201d and is \u201cstrongly discouraged,\u201d according to the American Veterinary Medical Association<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was really misadvised about getting my cats declawed,\u201d Khlo\u00e9 said. \u201cI\u2019ve never owned cats before. I didn\u2019t even know that was a thing. I feel really, really terrible that I did go in this direction. I feel like that\u2019s why my cats are miserable and it was at my doing.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cMy cats wear AirTags. Like, they\u2019re not allowed to even go near a door. I\u2019m so afraid if they get out because they have no way to defend themselves. They lost their protection tools. It makes me sad.\u201d<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Vanderpump Rules\u00a0star and then-fianc\u00e9 James Kennedy adopted their pooch, Graham Cracker, amid their early courtship. After they split in December 2021, Leviss retained custody of the dog, but many costars called out his poor behavior. \u201cRachel would bring [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to the American Veterinary Medical Association<\/a> \u201cstrongly discourages veterinarians from performing onychectomy, tenectomy, or any other surgical procedure intended to prevent the normal use of the animal\u2019s claws that is not medically necessary.\u201d<\/p>\n

The AVMA says that \u201cscratching is a normal behavior of cats that conditions the claws, serves as a visual and scent territorial marker, allows for self-defense, and provides healthy muscle engagement through stretching. The amputation or other surgical alteration of the distal digits is an acutely painful procedure and may result in chronic pain, maladaptive behavior, disability, and significant mutilation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Several states in the U.S. have banned the declawing of cats except for medical reasons. California joined the growing list in January after new legislation was passed last October.<\/p>\n

Khlo\u00e9 first introduced Grey Kitty to the world in a November 2022 Instagram<\/a> post featuring her and daughter True, 8, dressed up as cats. In April 2024, the Good American cofounder shared<\/a> that she had added another kitten to her brood. (Khlo\u00e9 also shares son Tatum, 3, with ex Tristan Thompson<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n
