Will Trent<\/em> received backlash<\/a> after killing off several pivotal characters \u2014 and now Scott Foley<\/strong><\/a> is speaking out.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat a wonderful gift to receive after a wonderful experience on #willtrent,\u201d Foley wrote via Instagram alongside a photo of his name in the show\u2019s title card. \u201cThanks to the cast and crew, the writers and creators who made the experience so special.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cThis will surely make my wife and daughter say \u2018Awww\u2019 each time they pass by and really, that\u2019s enough for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Foley\u2019s post comes after<\/a> the May 5 season finale of the hit ABC series showed Angie (Erika Christensen<\/strong>) finally giving birth but her happiness was short-lived because her husband, Seth (Foley), died after collapsing in the hospital.<\/p>\n

Virgin River fans were surprised when showrunner Patrick Sean Smith confirmed multiple characters were written off the show after season 7. Marco Grazzini addressed [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just Game of Thrones out here,\u201d Iantha Richardson<\/strong>, who plays Faith, joked during an exclusive interview with Us Weekly. \u201cI have no clue if death is imminent on this show [but] I hope not.\u201d<\/p>\n

Richardson, 35, recalled the reasoning she heard about Seth\u2019s death<\/a>, adding, \u201cIt sets up a beautiful emotional arc for people in the coming season of what\u2019s to come. So there\u2019s a lot to look forward to.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the potential onscreen growth, Richardson acknowledged how \u201chard\u201d it is to see cast member<\/a>s leave the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cLosing people like that definitely keeps you on your toes. Nobody expected to lose one person \u2014 let alone two \u2014 in very different genres of what the show has. But to lose two in a matter of three weeks is just gut wrenching over and over again,\u201d she noted. \u201cWhat is expected is a lot of emotional roller-coasters. I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s death necessarily but I hope not. I do know that there is a lot of emotional recoil that will come in the season to come.\u201d<\/p>\n

Based on a book by Karin Slaughter<\/strong>, Will Trent<\/em> follows a special agent at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation who was abandoned at birth and grew up in Atlanta\u2019s overwhelmed foster care system. Will (Ramon Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>) now relies on his unique perspective while pursuing justice, resulting in the highest clearance rate in the GBI.<\/p>\n
