Sebastian Stan<\/strong><\/a><\/span> finds President Donald Trump<\/span><\/a><\/strong>\u2019s behavior to be no laughing matter.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we\u2019re in a really, really bad place. I really do,\u201d Stan, 43, told reporters<\/span><\/a> during a press conference for his new movie Fjord<\/i> on Monday, May 18. \u201cTo be honest with you, when you\u2019re looking at what\u2019s happening, right \u2014 if we\u2019re talking about the consolidation of the media, censorship, threats, the supposed lawsuits that seemingly never end but don\u2019t actually go anywhere \u2014 the writing was on the wall. We encountered all that with the movie.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although it\u2019s been two years since he played Trump, 79, in the biopic The Apprentice, <\/i>Stan still remembers the lengths the president of the United States went to try and stop the film from coming out.<\/p>\n

\u201cThree days before the festival, [we were] unsure if the movie was going to play the festival,\u201d he said via Variety<\/i>. \u201cSo maybe people are paying attention more to that film, I think it will stand the test of time for that. But we went through all of it, right before Jimmy Kimmel<\/strong> and Stephen Colbert<\/strong> and so on. So, I wish it wasn\u2019t like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAnticipation for the upcoming Donald Trump biographical drama The Apprentice reached new heights when it debuted at the 77th annual Cannes Film Festival just days after wrapping production. Directed by Ali Abbasi and written by Gabriel Sherman, Sebastian Stan stars as a young Trump in the film, which follows the future president as he rises [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While Trump has previously called for Kimmel\u2019s firing for his controversial jokes<\/span><\/a>, he also celebrated the cancellation of The Late Show<\/i>, saying Colbert\u2019s \u201ctalent was even<\/span><\/a> less than his ratings.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stan himself knows what it\u2019s like to have Trump call out his work and projects.<\/p>\n

In October 2024, the president took to his Truth Social account <\/span><\/a>and slammed The Apprentice<\/i>, a movie that centers on his rise as a real estate businessman in New York City under the mentorship of Roy Cohn.<\/p>\n

\u201cA FAKE and CLASSLESS Movie written about me, called, \u2018The Apprentice\u2019 (Do they even have the right to use that name without approval?), will hopefully \u2018bomb,\u2019\u201d Trump wrote at the time. \u201cIt\u2019s a cheap, defamatory and politically disgusting hatchet job, put out right before the 2024 Presidential Election, to try and hurt the Greatest Political Movement in the History of our Country, \u2018MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
