Tell Me Lies<\/em> star Spencer House<\/strong> has landed a coveted role in the upcoming FX series Very Young Frankenstein<\/em>.<\/p>\n

On Monday (May 18), FX announced it was picking up the pilot based on Mel Brooks<\/strong>‘ 1974 classic film Young Frankenstein<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The pick-up isn’t surprising when you check out the show’s pedigree: it’s from the team behind What We Do in the Shadows<\/em>, including Taika Waititi<\/strong>, Garrett Basch<\/strong>, and Stefani Robinson<\/strong>, per Deadline<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Spencer is in the pilot episode alongside Zach Galifianakis<\/strong>, Nikki Crawford<\/strong>, Kumail Nanjiani<\/strong>, Dolly Wells<\/strong>, and Cary Elwes<\/strong>. The episode was written by Robinson<\/strong> and directed by Waititi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cVery Young Frankenstein<\/em>\u00a0blends inspiration from the fan-favorite movie with the inventive, irreverent spirit that has defined FX comedies over the years, making this a completely original take on the classic story,\u201d said Nick Grad<\/strong>, President, FX Entertainment. <\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cIn the hands of FX veterans Stefani<\/strong>, Taika<\/strong> and Garrett<\/strong>, alongside the iconic Mel Brooks<\/strong>, we know that fans will have as much fun watching this series as we\u2019re having making it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Very Young Frankenstein<\/em> is one of four pilots that FX has picked up and ordered to series in the past year. The others include a Snowfall <\/em>spinoff; a family drama called Seven Sisters<\/em> starring Elizabeth Olsen<\/strong>, J. Smith-Cameron<\/strong>, and Cristin Milioti<\/strong>; and a show called Disinherited <\/em>from Better Call Saul <\/em>co-creator Peter Gould<\/strong> that will star Victoria Pedretti<\/strong> and Kiera Allen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, FX announced one of its most popular and acclaimed shows is ending with its upcoming season<\/a>. <\/p>\n
