The 48-year-old American Pie actor and Jenny, 46, announced their separation on Thursday (14.05.26) following months of speculation about difficulties in their relationship. <\/p>\n
Now, according to a report by the Daily Mail, Jason\u2019s recent health transformation, combined with the stress of directing his first feature film, contributed to strain between the pair. <\/p>\n
A source told the publication: \u201cJason definitely has changed since his weight loss transformation. He lost a lot of weight and it definitely helped boost his ego.\u201d<\/p>\n
The insider added: \u201cI don\u2019t think he was wanting to lose that much weight but it happened and he\u2019s proud of the results like anyone who lost 40 pounds or more would be.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nJason and Jenny, who married in 2008 and share two sons \u2013 Sid, 12, and Lazlo, eight \u2013 have long been known for their candid discussions about marriage, parenting and addiction on social media, podcasts and television appearances.<\/p>\n
\nThe actor recently discussed his weight loss publicly during an interview with Page Six, revealing he had initially decided to improve his health after experiencing cholesterol problems.<\/p>\n
\nHe said his \u201ccholesterol came down 70 points\u201d after changing his diet and fitness routine.<\/p>\n
\nThe actor, who remains best known for playing Jim Levenstein in the hugely successful American Pie franchise alongside Seann William Scott, Alyson Hannigan and Eugene Levy, has recently attempted to broaden his career beyond comedy acting. <\/p>\n
\nLast year Jason completed work on his directorial debut, Untitled Home Invasion Romance, while he and Jenny also appeared together in Amateur Night and the rebooted food and entertainment series Dinner and a Movie.<\/p>\n
\nThe source also claimed to the Mail the pressure surrounding Jason\u2019s directing ambitions created additional difficulties inside the marriage.<\/p>\n
