Sydney Sweeney<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s risqu\u00e9 character Cassie defended her sex work on Euphoria<\/em><\/a> after several graphic scenes.<\/p>\n

During the Sunday, May 17, episode of the hit HBO show, Cassie got her big break on a movie set but it didn\u2019t take long for her job on OnlyFans to come up. Lexi (Maude Apatow<\/strong><\/a>) specifically threw shade at her sister for filming herself topless, engaged in sexual situations and even getting paid extra for \u201cjerk off instructions.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI am not a sex worker,\u201d Cassie said before clarifying her job, \u201cI\u2019m a performer. That uses my body to tell stories.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cassie was ultimately able to book the role, which evolved into a larger opportunity. But that meant deleting her OnlyFans account \u2014 and that wasn\u2019t as easy for Cassie. She tried to get advice from husband Nate (Jacob Elordi<\/strong>)<\/a> but he was too busy trying to come up with the money to pay off his debt. It didn\u2019t work and Cassie received Nate\u2019s finger in the mail.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSydney Sweeney has been candid about what goes into stripping down for nude scenes in Euphoria and other projects. After Euphoria premiered in 2019, Sweeney, who plays Cassie, opened up about the downsides of being naked on screen. \u201cI don\u2019t think as many people took me seriously in Euphoria because I took my shirt off,\u201d [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Cassie\u2019s arc in season 3 has received criticism after some OnlyFans creators weren\u2019t thrilled with how their line of work was portrayed on screen. Creator Sam Levinson<\/strong>, however, defended the decision<\/a> to push boundaries.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Cassie] has got her dog house and her little dog ears and the nose, and that has its own humor,\u201d Levinson explained to The Hollywood Reporter in April. \u201cBut what makes the scene is the fact that her housekeeper is the one filming it.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cWhat we wanted to always find is the other layer of absurdity that we\u2019re able to tie into it so that we\u2019re not too inside of her fantasy or illusion. The gag is to jump out, to break the wall.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAn obvious choice would\u2019ve been something modern and very plain and fancy, but we ended up choosing this mid-century home, which is a little tacky, but also stuck in the \u201870s,\u201d R\u00e9v explained. \u201cIt\u2019s probably a strange choice, but also it gives us possibilities. OnlyFans has its own aesthetic and how you elevate that aesthetic to the show\u2019s aesthetic is a challenge. I\u2019m not going to lie.\u201d<\/p>\n
