Megan Moroney<\/a><\/span><\/strong> had a very good reason why she couldn\u2019t attend the 2026 Academy of Country Music Awards<\/span><\/a> in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so honored to be nominated tonight at @ACMAwards & I\u2019m rooting on all my friends from afar!\u201d Moroney, 28, wrote via her Instagram Story on Sunday, May 17. \u201cI\u2019m out of the country this week on MOH [maid of honor] duty to get my bestie married @Inatalieking.\u201d<\/p>\n

Instead of showcasing a designer gown perfect for a red carpet, the country singer posed in a comfy two-piece loungewear set as she prepared to get Natalie King<\/strong> \u2014 the subject of her 2021 song \u201cWonder\u201d \u2014 married.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love you guys & can\u2019t wait to see y\u2019all in Columbus!\u201d she said when referring to her sold-out tour date on May 29. \u201cCounting down the days.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the 2026 ACM Awards<\/span><\/a> later on Sunday, host Shania Twain<\/strong> acknowledged that Moroney was not present inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas for the star-studded event.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Twain, 60, was thrilled to welcome the \u201cTennessee Orange\u201d singer to the show virtually with a pretaped message.<\/p>\n

\u201cCountry music has the power to bring people together, to help people improve and heal lives, so it\u2019s only right that ACM Lifting Lives supports great causes like St. Jude Children\u2019s Hospital,\u201d Twain shared. \u201cMegan Maroney, one of country music\u2019s newest superstars, couldn\u2019t be here tonight but for a really beautiful reason. She\u2019s busy being the bridesmaid of honor at her best friend\u2019s wedding. However, Megan still sent us this very special message on this very important cause.\u201d<\/p>\n

Soon after, Moroney appeared wearing a St. Jude Music Gives T-shirt and asked fans and viewers alike to show support.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s all band together to help St. Jude beat childhood cancer,\u201d she said while showcasing her T-shirt, available online<\/span><\/a>. \u201cPlease get yours and twin with me.\u201d<\/p>\n

During Sunday\u2019s awards show, Moroney led the pack of nominees with nine nods, including Entertainer of the Year and Female Artist of the Year.<\/p>\n
