Revealing how crew members initially mistook the emergency for a joke as the 63-year-old actor\u2019s co-stars Rhea Seehorn and Patrick Fabian, rushed to help him, Bob \u2013 best known for playing morally slippery lawyer Saul Goodman in Better Call Saul and its predecessor Breaking Bad \u2013 said screaming also erupted on set during his health horror.<\/p>\n
Speaking about the incident to The Times, Bob said: \u201cI went down and Rhea and Patrick grabbed me and they were screaming, but (the crew members who noticed) thought they were laughing. <\/p>\n
\u201cSo there were delays in reacting because we were all so far apart from each other.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bob added: \u201cI was gone. I turned grey. Eventually the on-set medic showed up and he didn\u2019t know what to do. He\u2019d never done CPR.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAfter being transported to hospital, the actor was treated without surgery. <\/p>\n
\nBob said he has little memory of the ordeal itself.<\/p>\n
\nHe added: \u201cA lot of people get that wonderful reel of film of their life, or they have a person who says, \u2018Do you want to go back?\u2019 None of that for me.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe first memory I have is leaving the hospital a week after I got there.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBob said the experience changed his outlook on life.<\/p>\n
\nHe added: \u201cThat was such a gift, to experience a few weeks where I felt that way about my presence in the world. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI felt just very, very delighted and engaged.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nFollowing the incident in July 2021, Bob confirmed on social media he had suffered a heart attack while filming the final season of Better Call Saul.<\/p>\n
\nHe wrote on X \u2013\u00a0then known as Twitter: \u201cHi. It\u2019s Bob. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cThank you. To my family and friends who have surrounded me this week.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBob continued: \u201cAnd for the outpouring of love from everyone who expressed concern and care for me. It\u2019s overwhelming. But I feel the love and it means so much.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nIn a follow-up post, he wrote: \u201cI\u2019m going to be ok thanks to Rosa Estrada and the doctors who knew how to fix the blockage without surgery.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019m going to take a beat to recover but I\u2019ll be back soon.\u201c<\/p>\n
\nA month later, Bob updated fans again, writing: \u201cI am doing great.<\/p>\n
\nReferencing the movie It’s a Wonderful Life, he added: \u201cI\u2019ve had my very own \u2018It\u2019s a wonderful life\u2019 week of people insisting I make the world slightly better. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cWow! Thank you, I love everyone right now but let\u2019s keep expectations reasonable!\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDuring a 2022 appearance on Sunday Today, Bob revealed the severity of the blockage in his chest.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cMy widow-maker artery was completely blocked. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cThat\u2019s why it\u2019s called the widow-maker \u2019cause you die when that happens, but I went down.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI was not present for any of it. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019m told it was a pretty shocking day on set, and traumatising for all my costars and crew members and people I love very much who love me and stood by my side and then went to the hospital with me.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nIn 2023, speaking to Yahoo! Life, Bob said the heart attack \u201cdidn\u2019t affect\u201d him \u201cmuch for a long time\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nHe added: \u201cI had a strange kind of upbeat energy literally the next day, and every day. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt was because I had, like, a mind wipe every night.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI needed my brain to get back on a normal state. It\u2019s something I think about every day.\u201d<\/p>\n
