Adam Driver<\/strong><\/a> has addressed former Girls<\/em> costar Lena Dunham<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s memoir for the first time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have no comment on any of that,\u201d Driver, 42, said during a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival on Sunday, May 17. \u201cI\u2019m saving it all for my book.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dunham, 40, made headlines in April when she released her memoir, Famesick,<\/a> and detailed their working relationship. (Dunham and Driver played Hannah and Adam, respectively on Girls<\/em>. The series ran for six seasons from 2012 to 2017.)<\/p>\n

In the book, Dunham wrote that she and Driver \u201cfought often,\u201d but there was an \u201cintensity\u201d to their relationship. Dunham recalled one instance in which she nearly \u201ccrossed\u201d a line with Driver<\/a>, claiming that he called her one night after a play performance and asked about coming over.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAllison Williams has reacted to her former Girls costar Lena Dunham\u2018s latest tell-all memoir. \u201cI need to read more before I say anything about it,\u201d Williams, 38, said in an interview with Variety on Tuesday, April 14. Williams explained she was at the portion of the book where Dunham, 39, wrote about the table read [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cOn Friday, he called me as he was leaving the theater. \u2018You still home alone, Dunham?\u2019 I was. \u2018OK. I\u2019m riding down to you. But I\u2019m warning you, if I come up, I\u2019m not leaving this time,\u2019\u201d Dunham recalled, noting that she \u201cdidn\u2019t answer\u201d when he got there.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome part of me knew \u2014 some wise part of me, some bold part of me \u2014 that if we crossed whatever boundary we were threatening to cross, the return to work would be tinged with humiliation,\u201d she explained. \u201cThat I\u2019d be minimizing any authority I still had, and that, however it went, my heart-bruised but improbably not yet broken-would crack.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dunham alleged that she and Driver \u201cnever\u201d discussed that night, and he got engaged one month later. (Driver tied the knot with Joanne Tucker<\/strong> in 2013.)<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was absurd to be heartbroken, to have thought I meant anything, that I occupied any role beyond distraction,\u201d Dunham wrote. \u201cI was his scene partner, sure \u2014 and so when we were in a scene, his attention was piercing, his presence all-consuming. But in life? It would never be me who kept him in line. I didn\u2019t have the chops. Even at work, I couldn\u2019t do it, in the one place I was meant to make the rules.\u201d<\/p>\n

While promoting her memoir in April, Dunham appeared to dodge a question<\/a> about Driver.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou write in the book about so much, but partly about a complicated relationship you had with your costar Adam Driver,\u201d Jenna Bush Hager<\/strong> said during an episode of Today With Jenna & Sheinelle<\/em>. \u201cYou were his boss. You were the director of this television series. Moments where there was violence or anger, moments where there could have been romantic feelings. How does it sit with you now?\u201d<\/p>\n

Dunham shared that she reflected on experiences that would be \u201cuseful, potentially, to the reader\u201d for her book.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I wrote about a dynamic that a lot of young women can understand in the workplace,\u201d Dunham explained. \u201cI spent eight and a half years writing this book, so I was super intentional with every word that I put on the page and then you come on live TV \u2014 with cool glamorous girls like you \u2014 and are asked to rehash it in a way.\u201d<\/p>\n
