The Pitch Perfect star and her husband Josh Allen welcomed a baby girl into the world last month, and the 29-year-old actress has reflected on the importance of warm, nourishing foods during the postpartum period.<\/p>\n
She wrote in a post shared to her Beau Society Substack: “My amazing doula has taught me so much about postpartum nutrition.<\/p>\n
“In general, she advised me to stick to warm foods during my postpartum recovery to help digestion and boost nutrient absorption, a philosophy that stems from Ayurveda.<\/p>\n
“Knowing this, my mom made me this amazing albondigas soup the other day. It’s one of those rare soups that looks as good as it tastes.”<\/p>\n
\nHailee went on to praise Heng Ou’s postpartum cookbook The First 40 Days, and admitted it had been an invaluable resource for her.<\/p>\n
\nShe posted: “Every word has resonated. There’s a paragraph early on that talks about how even forty days after giving birth, you’re still in such a vulnerable state. People understand that about your new baby, but they don\u2019t understand that about you, the mom.<\/p>\n
\n“I’m still in this early period, and need to remember to be super gentle with myself in every way \u2014 physically, mentally, nutritionally, spiritually, all of it.”<\/p>\n
\nHailee recently claimed that she’s “stepping into [her] own as a woman”and her starring role in Sinners, the Ryan Coogler-directed horror movie, came to her at the perfect time in her life.<\/p>\n
\nHailee – who starred alongside Michael B Jordan in the movie – told Bustle: “This role wouldn\u2019t have existed in my life at any other time.<\/p>\n
\n“It made sense in that this is where I\u2019m at in my life. I\u2019m stepping into my own as a woman, understanding who I am in every sense of the word. I\u2019m such a firm believer in the idea that everything happens for a reason. <\/p>\n
\n“Timing is everything. Where I\u2019m at professionally, mentally, emotionally \u2014 if this part had come into my life any sooner, I wouldn\u2019t have been able to take it on.”<\/p>\n
\nHailee launched her Beau Society newsletter during the SAG strike in 2023, and she’s been able to reach her fans through the platform.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “It has been this really great connective way to reach people. We get to talk about everything from the layers that exist in Sinners to this avocado hummus.”<\/p>\n
