The cast of 9-1-1<\/em><\/a> are sharing hopes for their characters as they head into season 10 of their hit ABC series.<\/p>\n

\u201cBased upon the ending of season 9 for myself, I think [Buck] has come into a lot of new responsibility in his life, and it\u2019s going to be a battle to see quite how he juggles all of that and contends with his work,\u201d Oliver Stark<\/strong><\/a>, who plays Evan \u201cBuck\u201d Buckley, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> at the Disney Upfronts 2026 red carpet earlier this week.<\/p>\n

Stark\u2019s character has come a long way since the show\u2019s pilot, recently starting a surprising new chapter during the season 9 finale after he signed the papers to become 4-year-old Theo\u2019s guardian. (Theo\u2019s parents, who died in a car accident, were Buck\u2019s friends. He had agreed to be their sperm donor.)<\/p>\n

Ryan Guzman<\/strong><\/a>, meanwhile, admitted he has \u201cno clue\u201d where his character, Eddie Diaz, could be heading, but does have some ideas on his wish list. \u201cIf I could pick, I would love to have Eddie revisit his army days somehow, someway,\u201d he said. \u201cOr get a love interest.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tOliver Stark wasn\u2019t initially sold on his character Evan \u201cBuck\u201d Buckley\u2019s big 9-1-1 season 9 finale twist ending. Warning: Spoilers below for the 9-1-1 season 9 finale. During the final moments of the Thursday, May 7, episode, titled \u201cHearts and Flowers,\u201d it was revealed that Buck signed paperwork making him the legal guardian of 4-year-old [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A \u201clove interest\u201d for Eddie could be divisive, as many fans have hoped that the single dad would get together with Buck after years of close friendship<\/a>. Guzman noted he\u2019s well aware a Buck and Eddie romance would make \u201ca lot of people happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actors, however, are not in control of where the story goes. \u201cWe obviously don\u2019t write the show, and we just play the scenes as they come to us,\u201d Stark explained to Us<\/em> before highlighting how \u201cmeaningful\u201d the \u201creaction\u201d to \u201cBuddie\u201d has been for both himself and Guzman. \u201cWe love how invested the audience<\/a> is in that relationship, whatever you view it as. And we play it as it comes and as authentically and truthfully as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for Aisha Hinds<\/strong>, whose character, Henrietta \u201cHen\u201d Wilson, ended season 9 in a strong place after battling dermatomyositis \u2014 a rare, serious, and chronic autoimmune connective tissue disorder \u2014 she noted that anything is possible when it comes to 9-1-1<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t tell you where [Hen is] going,\u201d she said with a laugh. \u201cI mean, she went to space, she lost all faculties, like, she surfaced again. Where do we go from there? I don\u2019t know!\u201d<\/p>\n
