The online platform is now home to the six-time Oscar-winning action-drama <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/like-one-battle-after-another-with-leonardo-dicaprio-then-watch-these-great-movies-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>One Battle After Another<\/em><\/a>, which is scheduled to be added on Saturday, May 23.<\/p>\n<p>That <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/leonardo-dicaprio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Leonardo DiCaprio<\/strong><\/a>-starring movie is already a masterpiece, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/watch-with-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Watch With Us<\/a> has found a couple of other modern classics that are worth adding to your queue.<\/p>\n<p>Spike Lee\u2019s <em>Do the Right Thing<\/em> is just as potent now as it was when it sparked a firestorm of conversation in 1989, while the gory horror classic <em>The Return of the Living Dead<\/em> might make you swear off meat for the rest of your life.\n<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018One Battle After Another\u2019 (2025)<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-caption \">\n<div class=\"ratio-based-placeholder\" style=\"padding-bottom:66.7%;\"><\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span class=\"credit\">Warner Bros. \/ Courtesy Everett Collection<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Is it possible for a movie to already be considered a \u201cmasterpiece\u201d only eight months after it was released? In <em>One Battle After Another\u2019<\/em>s case, the answer is a resounding yes. <strong>Leonardo DiCaprio<\/strong> stars as Bob Ferguson, a burned-out former revolutionary who has been hiding from the authorities for nearly two decades. With the long-awaited return of Citadel debuting early and Nicolas Cage\u2018s intriguing Spider-Man spinoff, Spider-Noir, closing out the month, Prime Video is embracing its TV division like never before. Movie lovers shouldn\u2019t fret, though \u2014 there\u2019s plenty of films being [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Loosely adapted from <strong>Thomas Pynchon<\/strong>\u2019s <em>Vineland<\/em>, Paul Thomas Anderson\u2019s movie imagines an America ruled by secret societies and a fascist government. Mixing action, satire and drama, the movie paints a rich portrait of a country still divided by class warfare and racial tensions, yet populated with citizens who hope and work for a better future. Anderson\u2019s direction is superb, with the car chase in Borrego Springs, California, already a classic worthy of comparison to <em>Bullitt<\/em> and <em>The French Connection<\/em>, while the performances from Penn, Infini, and three-time Oscar winner Penn are vivid and heartbreaking. Years from now, when people want to see what 2025 looked and felt like, they\u2019ll watch <em>One Battle After Another<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Do the Right Thing\u2019 (1989)<\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Do the Right Thing | Restored Trailer [HD] | Coolidge Corner Theatre\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yVAD4fYRcvA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s summertime in Brooklyn, and it\u2019s already too hot for Mookie (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/spike-lee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Spike Lee<\/strong><\/a>). He\u2019s a twentysomething pizza deliveryman for Sal (<strong>Danny Aiello<\/strong>), an Italian American whose clientele is mostly Black. That doesn\u2019t prevent him and his son, Pino (<strong>John Turturro<\/strong>), from showing contempt for the community that helps them thrive. As the temperature rises, so do the uneasy tensions between the diverse communities that live side-by-side. Dramatic, funny, thrilling, shocking and sad, it\u2019s the rare movie that transcends all genres and perfectly captures a moment in time that we\u2019re still experiencing today. A group of teens is stuck in a cemetery when these zombies come a-calling, and they have to survive the night with few resources, an acid rain storm and a growing horde of the undead chasing them. How do you kill what\u2019s already dead? That\u2019s the question they\u2019ll all have to answer if they\u2019re going to make it out alive.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Return of the Living Dead<\/em> has nothing to do with <strong>George A. Romero<\/strong>\u2019s classic <em>Night of the Living Dead<\/em> franchise, save for some slow-moving zombies and some snarky social commentary. This homage is more violent, though, with some pretty gnarly kills and all sorts of decomposed bodies on display. It\u2019s not for the faint of heart, especially when that organ and others are consumed so vociferously \u2014 and so graphically.
