But the post has still prompted a re-examination of Katy and Josh\u2019s relationship.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-tiktok wp-block-embed-tiktok\"\/>\n<p>In a 2013 interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/383700\/josh-groban-talks-about-kinda-sorta-dating-katy-perry-past-relationship-with-january-jones\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">E! News<\/a>, Groban explained that he and Perry dated before she hit it big.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe met before her first album was even released, and we hit it off because we\u2019re both goofballs,\u201d he told the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>Katy spoke about the relationship more recently, telling James Corden in 2017 that Josh was \u201cthe one that got away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The following year, Andy Cohen asked Groban about how he felt about being crowned Katy\u2019s favorite ex. Josh laughed that he was \u201cnot expecting that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat was a double-take and a spit of my coffee when I saw that,\u201d he said, adding:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very sweet of her to say that. I\u2019m very flattered by it. But I was very surprised by it, too.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We can\u2019t help but notice that he didn\u2019t return the compliment. We kid!<\/p>\n<p>These days, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2026\/04\/katy-perry-pregnant-justin-trudeau-fans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Katy is dating former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau<\/a>, and she seems to be very happy in her new relationship.<\/p>\n<p>And again, she was clearly joking in her reaction to Josh\u2019s engagement news.
