\n\u201cIt\u2019s so impressive watching someone use social media and use media to draw attention to incredibly important issues and to really challenge people. So if I had children, I\u2019d say be more like Billie.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nMoby opened his plant-based restaurant Little Pine in Los Angeles back in 2015, but the eatery closed its doors in late 2022.<\/p>\n
\nBillie and FINNEAS’ mother Maggie Baird replied to his post, thanking him for the activism work he does.<\/p>\n
\nShe commented: “Thank you for all you do. And still miss Little Pine.”<\/p>\n
\nBillie – who has followed a vegan diet since she was a child – sparked a major furore online after she insisted no one can “love animals” if they don’t limit themselves to plant-based food.<\/p>\n
\nAsked what is the “one hill you’d die on”, she recently told ELLE magazine: “Eating meat is inherently wrong.<\/p>\n
\n“Two things cannot coincide: ‘I love all animals so much and I eat meat’. Sorry – you could eat meat, go for it, you could love animals, but you can\u2019t do both.”<\/p>\n
\nShe has since doubled down on her comments and urged her social media followers to watch videos of animals being slaughtered.<\/p>\n
\nIn a series of posts on Instagram, she wrote: “So stay f****** mad at me. I really don’t give a Goddamn f***.”<\/p>\n
\nShe went on to add: “Go watch a documentary or two and some footage of what is done to the animals u claim to love and what it does to the planet u pretend to love as well.<\/p>\n
\n“If that footage was hard for u to watch, I encourage u to pls take a look at [yourself]. Like I am so tired of standing up for\/having empathy for living beings being controversial. <\/p>\n
\n“[Please] continue to live in a constant state of cognitive dissonance and denial and try to convince urself that [you’re] not living a lie.”<\/p>\n
