Katy Perry<\/strong><\/a> is reacting to the news that Josh Groban<\/strong><\/a> is engaged, years after she revealed that she wrote the song “The One That Got Away” about him.<\/p>\n

Katy<\/strong> and Josh<\/strong> briefly dated back in 2009, but two decades later, they still remain friends. <\/p>\n

Amid his engagement to musical theatre actress Natalie McQueen<\/strong><\/a>, Katy<\/strong> posted a video of herself jokingly crying as she listened to her own song. WATCH NOW ON TIKTOK<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Josh Groban has previously reacted to “The One That Got Away”<\/h3>\n

While appearing in a weekend-long livestream in 2017 to promote her Witness <\/em>album, Katy <\/strong>told fans that Josh <\/strong>was “the one that got away.” <\/p>\n

Josh <\/strong>reacted to the news on Watch What Happens Live<\/em> in September 2018. He said, \u201cI was not expecting that. That was a double take and a spit of my coffee when I saw that. It\u2019s very sweet of her to say that. I\u2019m very flattered by it. But I was very surprised by it too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Josh<\/strong> didn’t think that he could be the subject of the song because the lyrics don’t actually match him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI listened to the lyrics of the song. And I\u2019m like, \u2018I never owned a Mustang. I don\u2019t have a tattoo. Are you sure that\u2019s about me?\u2019” he added.<\/p>\n

On why they broke up, Josh <\/strong>said, \u201cWe were both very private and we realized we were better as friends and we\u2019ve been very, very good friends to this day. She\u2019s the best.” He also shot down the chance of a reconciliation at the time, saying, “I think we\u2019re both very taken at the moment, but it\u2019s very sweet.\u201d<\/p>\n
