Jason Isaacs<\/a> felt “quite parental” when he met new Harry Potter actor Lox Pratt at the BAFTA TV Awards on Sunday (10.05.26).<\/p>\n

Jason Isaacs was happy to meet Lox Pratt<\/p>\n

The 62-year-old actor – who played Lucius Malfoy in the original Harry Potter film series – has retained a close friendship with his former on-screen son Tom Felton<\/a> since they worked on the wizarding franchise so found it “very confusing” when he crossed paths with 14-year-old Lox, who will be taking on the role of Draco Malfoy in HBO’s new TV series.<\/p>\n

Sharing a photo of them together on the red carpet, Jason also gave a shoutout to Johnny Flynn, who will be following in his footsteps as Lucius, and wrote on Instagram: “Draco 2.0 meets OG Lucius. A strange and lovely feeling knowing what joy young Lox will bring to the world and what joy the future holds for him. <\/p>\n

“Felt quite parental but had to remind myself he\u2019s not my son – Tom is. No, wait\u2026I have daughters. It\u2019s all very confusing. <\/p>\n

“The only thing I know for sure is Tom and I will be watching Lox and the great #JohnnyFlynn with envy and love and wonder at the timeless power of these great stories. #GardenOfForkingPaths #ForkingWeird (sic)”<\/p>\n

\nLox was delighted to meet “the OG Papa”.<\/p>\n

\nHe commented on the post: “Thanks @therealjasonisaacs! The OG Papa Lucius Malfoy. Loved our time together @bafta. (sic)”<\/p>\n

\nLox recently insisted his version of Draco will be different to Tom’s portrayal in the films.<\/p>\n

\nHe told Variety: \u201cHe\u2019s still very much Draco, but I\u2019m putting my own spin on him. <\/p>\n

\n\u201cHe\u2019s definitely got more layers. I\u2019m excited for people to see it because he\u2019s so different to how Draco was in the films.”<\/p>\n

\nTom – who is currently playing the adult Draco in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway – previously revealed he had been in touch with Lox, and one of the pieces of advice he had given him was to “steal as many props as you can” because they will “be worth a fortune” in the future.<\/p>\n

\nAnd asked if he’d taken that on board, Lox said: \u201cYeah, I probably can\u2019t reveal how many props I\u2019ve taken.”<\/p>\n
