Dua Lipa is suing Samsung over TV packaging<\/p>\n

The Don’t Start Now pop star has filed a lawsuit in California alleging the electronics giant used her image on packaging for the companies TVs without permission with the singer claiming she owns the copyright to the image – taken backstage at the Austin City Limits Festival in Texas in 2024 – which featured on the boxes of the Crystal 43in ultra-high- definition sets.<\/p>\n

In the lawsuit, which was filed at the US District Court for the Central District of California on Friday (08.05.26), Lipa’s attorney Christine Lepera wrote: \u201cSamsung used a copyrighted image of Ms. Lipa without authority or licence and prominently featured it on the front of boxes containing Samsung-manufactured televisions for retail sale … <\/p>\n

“The substantial revenue made on the sale is inextricably tied to the false message conveyed to consumers that Ms. Lipa has endorsed the Infringing Products when she has not.”<\/p>\n

The Sun newspaper reports Samsung “ignored several legal warnings from [Dua Lipa<\/a>‘s] team” about the use of the picture.<\/p>\n

\nThe publication added Dua Lipa is asking for a minimum of $15million in damages.<\/p>\n

\nIn the lawsuit, Lepera added the Radical Optimism star is “highly selective in her commercial partnerships” after striking deals with companies including Puma, Versace, and Yves Saint Laurent, while she has also worked with brands such as Apple, Porsche, Chanel and Nespresso.<\/p>\n

\nThe news comes as Dua – who recently topped Heat magazine’s annual Under 30 Rich List with an estimated \u00a3129 million fortune – is said to be busy planning her wedding to actor Callum Turner after he proposed last year.<\/p>\n

\nThe singer subsequently revealed she’s been feeling “happier than ever” since getting engaged. Speaking to Harper\u2019s BAZAAR magazine’s global ICONS Issue, Dua shared: “I love love. It is a beautiful thing. It’s a really inspiring thing. You find yourself so intensely falling all the time in the best way possible.<\/p>\n

\n“That vulnerability is so scary, but I feel so lucky to get to feel it. I’ve spent a lot of time being guarded or protecting my heart, and so I’m letting go of that feeling and just being like, ‘Okay, if I’m supposed to get hurt, then this is what’s going to happen.’ I have to just allow love.”<\/p>\n
