Jerry O’Connell<\/strong><\/a> is reflecting on his marriage to Rebecca Romijn<\/strong><\/a>, and specifically the fact that his mother, Linda O’Connell<\/strong>, once offered him a chance to end things before they tied the not.<\/p>\n

The 52-year-old actor appeared alongside his mom on Live with Kelly and Mark<\/em> on Friday (May 8) and they talked about the time before he married wife Rebecca<\/strong>, 53.<\/p>\n

Linda <\/strong>joked that she used to tell her son she when didn’t like <\/strong>someone he was dating <\/strong>and would advise him to “kick her to the curb.”<\/p>\n

“The day I got married, I stayed with my parents \u2014 because my wife [Rebecca<\/strong>] stayed with her family and we didn\u2019t see each other until we got at the altar. But we did get in the car on the way to the wedding and my mother was like,” at this point he mimics a mafia accent to share what she said at the time.<\/p>\n

“‘Listen, if you feel uncomfortable about this. You don\u2019t have to do this,” he said.<\/p>\n

Then the Stand By Me<\/em> actor continued, via People<\/a><\/em>, ” ‘You don\u2019t gotta do this! I\u2019m just sayin’! You can, if you want… You can go to the airport \u2014 no questions. We\u2019ll cover for you. It\u2019s okay. You sure about this? She\u2019s a beautiful girl, she\u2019s very nice, but you sure about this?’ “<\/p>\n

But Jerry <\/strong>also confirmed that his mom loves everything about Rebecca <\/strong>and she agreed.<\/p>\n

“I do,” she said.<\/p>\n

Jerry <\/strong>and Rebecca <\/strong>married in 2007 and have twin daughters, Dolly <\/strong>and Charlie<\/strong>, 17.<\/p>\n

He also joked that he has turned into his mom a little with his kids and encourages them to “play the field.”<\/p>\n

“I sit down with them and I say, \u2018Girls, you gotta play the field. You can\u2019t just go out with one!’ ” he said. “I see their friends who are in relationships and they don\u2019t have fun anymore.”<\/p>\n
