High Potential<\/em> is going to look different<\/a> when it comes back for season 3 following a change behind the scenes.<\/p>\n

Multiple outlets confirmed that Nora<\/strong> and Lilla Zuckerman<\/strong> are taking over as co-showrunners and executive producers amid their overall deal at 20th Television, which produces High Potential.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are so grateful to be working with Craig, Karey, Simran and our partners at 20th and ABC on this exciting new chapter of High Potential,\u201d the duo said in a statement on Wednesday, May 6. \u201cThe fact we get to collaborate with Drew, Sarah and Andrea at Goddard Textiles and the incomparable Kaitlin Olson is a dream come true.\u201d<\/p>\n

They continued: \u201cWe\u2019re looking forward to climbing into the brilliant, bustling mind of Morgan Gillory and crafting intricate mysteries worthy of her genius.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tHigh Potential is returning for a third season \u2014 but not everyone is coming back after that surprise cast exit. The hit ABC series, which premiered in September 2024, follows Morgan (Kaitlin Olson), a high-potential intellectual who teams up with the LAPD to assist the department in solving murders. Morgan gets paired up with Karadec [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Before High Potential,<\/em> the Zuckermans were showrunners on the hit Peacock series Poker Face<\/em>. They also wrote for shows such as Suits, Agents of SHIELD, Prodigal Son<\/em> and Fringe<\/em> and are currently working on the Scream 8 script. The Zuckermans were previously attached to Hulu\u2019s Buffy the Vampire Slayer<\/em><\/a>, which ultimately did not move forward.<\/p>\n

The duo is taking over after Todd Harthan<\/strong> exited the show at the end of season 2. News broke in March that Harthan departed to focus on the upcoming live-action adaptation of Christopher Paolini<\/strong>\u2019s YA book series The Inheritance Cycle<\/em>. The adaptation \u2014 titled Eragon<\/em> \u2014 is cocreated with Paolini and Harthan will serve as coshowrunner alongside Todd Helbing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

High Potential<\/em>, which premiered in September 2024, was created by Drew Goddard<\/strong>. The pilot was written by Goddard, who was expected to executive produce alongside Sarah Esberg, Rob Thomas, Dan Etheridge, Pierre Laugier, Anthony Lancret, Jean Nainchrik<\/strong> and Alethea Jones<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Thomas, meanwhile, was expected to serve as the showrunner<\/a> before exiting in June 2024 \u2014 months before the series premiere. Harthan was ultimately announced as the new showrunner who also served as an executive producer.<\/p>\n

The police procedural follows a high-potential intellectual \u2014 Morgan (Kaitlin Olson<\/strong>) \u2014 who teams up with the LAPD to help solve murders. She gets paired up with Karadec (Daniel Sunjata<\/strong>), who is initially skeptical about Morgan\u2019s involvement with the Major Crimes unit but ultimately starts to rely on her.<\/p>\n

Season 2 picked up with the confirmation<\/a> that Morgan\u2019s ex Roman was still alive after going missing for more than a decade. The only information Morgan \u2014 and all of Us<\/em> \u2014 have is that her ex worked as an FBI informant and doesn\u2019t trust the LAPD.<\/p>\n
