A tangled web. <\/span>Kody Brown<\/strong><\/a> got real about his \u201cunraveling\u201d relationship with <\/span>Meri Brown<\/strong><\/a> on the latest <\/span>Sister Wives<\/em><\/a> episode \u2014 comparing it to the \u201csudden\u201d split from <\/span>Christine Brown<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI want to work on the relationship, but Kody has basically said that he doesn\u2019t. Does that mean we\u2019re just not married anymore?\u201d Meri, 51, asked during the Sunday, November 6, episode of the TLC series while reflecting on Christine\u2019s choice to leave the family. \u201cThat\u2019s not how I consider it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kody, meanwhile, confessed to the cameras, \u201cI don\u2019t really consider myself married to Meri<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meri and Kody tied the knot in 1990<\/a>. The Wyoming native went on to spiritually marry Janelle Brown<\/strong><\/a> in 1993 and Christine, 50, the following year. Robyn Brown<\/strong><\/a> joined the family in 2010 and four years later, Meri and Kody\u2019s romance faced a major shakeup.<\/p>\n

Kody legally divorced his first wife in 2014 to marry Robyn<\/a>, 43, and adopt her three children from a prior union. Meri and Kody\u2019s relationship has since faced many more ups and downs \u2014 and following her mom\u2019s death in 2021, Meri appeared to be spending more time away from her spouse while running her Utah bed and breakfast.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf she wanted to move on and marry another, she wouldn\u2019t get an argument with me<\/a>,\u201d Kody revealed during Sunday\u2019s episode when speaking about Meri.<\/p>\n

He later told the cameras: \u201cMeri\u2019s relationship with the family is a strained one. There\u2019s a whole history of struggle. From the very beginning.\u201d<\/p>\n

The father of 18<\/a> further explained, \u201cThe difference between me and Christine<\/a> and me and Meri is that Meri and I have been unraveling our relationship for years. Christine found out that she would never be happy married to me, but her leaving was so sudden that I \u2014 it wasn\u2019t unraveled for me. It was like I was being kicked to the curb<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Christine, who announced her split from Kody in November 2021<\/a>, hinted during the latest TLC episode that her exit from their plural family was partially because of how her ex catered more to his fourth wife<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy leaving Kody and leaving the family and moving I\u2019m really changing the dynamic,\u201d she said during a confessional. \u201cWhen I tell you that keeps me up at night, believe me that keeps me up at night.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ultimately, Christine revealed that she had a \u201cclear conscience knowing I gave it my best.\u201d She added: \u201cBeing a mom is my most important thing. But I couldn\u2019t with a clear conscience stay married to someone who had favorites<\/a> and made it very known. And someone who was breaking my kids\u2019 hearts. I needed to stand with them instead. And I wanted to do it for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kody challenged Christine\u2019s \u2014 and the other wives\u2019 \u2014 claims that Robyn has the best relationship with him<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s much for nuanced than just to say, Kody favors Robyn. That\u2019s not even a cool statement,\u201d he admitted. \u201cIt\u2019s that she communicates and her children communicate. They involve me.\u201d<\/p>\n
