Funeral arrangements will be shared when they are available.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Again, few details have been released by police, but investigators did issue a statement confirming that the scene was as Mai described it:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvidence on scene indicated the incident was a murder-suicide in which the male shot the three victims and then shot himself,\u201d police said in a statement.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Houston mourns Thy Mitchell, restaurateur and fashion designer remembered for creativity and vision\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/loathWE24cA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Several media outlets have now confirmed that the couple appeared on mukltiple Food Network programs, including <em>Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives<\/em> with host Fieri.<\/p>\n<p>A chef who worked for the Mitchells also appeared on <em>Beat Bobby Flay<\/em>, where he emerged victorious in a competition with the celebrity chef.<\/p>\n<p>The Mitchells were well-known in Houston for their highly regarded restaurant, Travelers Table, which served \u201cglobally curated cuisine\u201d inspired by the Michells\u2019 extensive travels.<\/p>\n<p>According to his webstite, Matthew Mitchell earned a bachelor\u2019s degree from Emory University and worked as a writer and journalist in London, Paris, and New York City.<\/p>\n<p>Upon returning to Texas, he attended Rice University and worked as a CEO in the pharmaceutical industry before opening a restaurant with his wife.<\/p>\n<p>Our thoughts go out to all of those affected by this horrific tragedy.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2026\/05\/houston-murder-suicide-couple-appeared-on-guy-fieris-food-network-series\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reading Time: 2 minutes On Tuesday, the world was shocked by news that Houston restaurateur Matthew Mitchell had murdered his wife, Thy Mitchell, and their two children before taking his own life.
