The Met Gala 2026<\/a>, the annual fundraiser for The Metropolitan Museum of Art\u2019s Costume Institute, sits at the intersection of fashion, art, and philanthropy. This year, the dress code is \u201cFashion Is Art\u201d in support of the Costume Institute\u2019s spring exhibition, \u201cCostume Art.\u201d Sure, \u201cFashion Is Art\u201d sounds simple, but it offers more than a guiding concept inspired by the exhibition\u2019s focus on fashion as an embodied art form. It can also be interpreted as a sartorial springboard for guests hoping to make fashion history by experimenting with bold colors, textures, silhouettes, and styling as they ascend the steps of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Organized into 13 \u201cthematic body parts,\u201d the exhibition pairs garments and accessories with paintings, drawings, sculptures, and photographs, ultimately displaying nearly 400 objects. Categories range from the \u201cNaked Body\u201d and the \u201cClassical Body\u201d to the \u201cPregnant Body\u201d and the \u201cAging Body.\u201d Furthermore, \u201cCostume Art\u201d is a debut of sorts. The exhibition, curated by Andrew Bolton, curator in charge of the Costume Institute, is the first exhibition in The Met\u2019s new Cond\u00e9 M.
