Mariah Carey<\/a> – said: \u201cMy son [Moroccan] has been dating, and I\u2019ve allowed it, I encouraged it.”<\/p>\nWhen the podcast host said they hope “you\u2019ve been allowing it and encouraging that\u201d for Monroe, too, Nick abruptly replied: \u201cNo, absolutely not.\u201d<\/p>\n
He explained: \u201cFirst of all, it\u2019s absolutely a double standard. And I know I get in trouble a lot \u2018cause I say things with my chest. But there is a difference when parenting a son and then when parenting a daughter.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe 45-year-old star admitted he is much more “protective” when it comes to parenting girls than boys.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI am more protective of my daughter because there [are] things out there that I have to protect my daughter from. Like, as we know, there are a certain type of individuals that you want to keep your daughter away from.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAs well as Moroccan and Monroe, Nick is also dad to Golden, nine, Powerful, five, and Rise, three, with Brittany Bell; four-year-old twins Zillion and Zion and Beautiful, three, with Abby De La Rosa; Legendary, four, with Bre Tiesi, Onyx, three, with LaNisha Cole; and three-year-old Halo with Alyssa Scott, the mom of his late son Zen who died aged five months in 2021.<\/p>\n
\nAnd Nick recently claimed he had so many kids because he was “careless” and should have taken more time to heal from the “trauma” of his 2016 divorce from Mariah.<\/p>\n
\nDuring an appearance on The Breakfast Club radio show, he explained: “It wasn’t like I was acting out. It was more of being careless, being frivolous with my process because I could do it, because I had the money [and] because I had the access to whoever and however I wanted to move.<\/p>\n
\n“Then, obviously, life happens as well, so it wasn’t like: ‘Oh, I’m gonna go have 12 kids.’ It was more about like: ‘Yo, I’m gonna just live life and have fun and whatever happens happens. I can handle it’.<\/p>\n
\nThe America’s Got Talent presenter felt he was damaged after his split from Mariah and needed to do more “inner work” to heal after the break up.<\/p>\n
\nHe added: “Being almost 45 now, I could sit back and like, yeah, if I would have thought the process through a little bit more and took time to actually do the inner work. Things might have been a little different in certain scenarios.<\/p>\n
\n“I don’t know … because I’ve always said this, every child that I had was made out of love and there were strong relationships.<\/p>\n
\n“If I would have did the work [and] the healing after getting divorced, I probably would have took my time in a lot other scenarios and for whatever reason I thought that was the answer a lot of times, like: ‘Oh, I’m gonna figure it out over here’.<\/p>\n
\n“Now, you’re leaving trauma every step of the way instead of fixing it from its origin.”<\/p>\n
