The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star divorced Kroy Biermann in May 2023 after 11 years of marriage and after the former NFL player filed an emergency request for permanent physical and legal custody of their four kids, K.J., 14, Kash, 13, and 12-year-old twins Kane and Kaia last month, a judge in Georgia has now made a temporary ruling.<\/p>\n
According to documents obtained by E! News, Kim has temporarily lost primary physical custody and while she and Kroy will continue to share joint legal custody, the 40-year-old former sportsman will have the final say when it comes to topics including education, religion, and non-emergency medical decisions.<\/p>\n
Kim is now focused on the next court hearing.<\/p>\n
She said in a statement: “While I want this process to be over for my children more than anything.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI am looking forward to a full court date when we will finally be provided with an opportunity to present the truth.”<\/p>\n
\nIn his emergency request petition, Kroy alleged Kim was \u201cboth unstable and unfit\u201d as a parent and is \u201cmore selfishly concerned with her own image and her work options than with the opinions of experts and\/or the best interest of the children.”<\/p>\n
\nBut the 47-year-old TV star denied her ex-husband’s allegations.<\/p>\n
\nHer lawyer told TMZ: \u201c[Kroy\u2019s] decision to file this motion lacks factual support and is unwarranted. We will address these claims in the proper legal forum and will vigorously defend the truth in court, rather than through public discourse.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nThe emergency request came weeks after Kroy had filed for sole custody of the children in March as he claimed Kim had displayed \u201cblatant mismanagement of basic parenting responsibilities\u201d that would be \u201cpractically unbelievable to anyone not familiar with the circumstances.”<\/p>\n
\nBut Kim denied the claims.<\/p>\n
\nShe told Us Weekly at the time: \u201cThese accusations are completely false and nothing more than a deliberate attempt by Kroy to defame my character.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI refuse to be bullied or have lies twisted into a narrative about who I am. I will not stay silent; the truth is on my side, and it will come to light\u2014no matter how hard anyone tries to bury it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAt that time, the judge approved a temporary parenting plan whereby Kroy retained the children while Kim completed four sessions of therapy.<\/p>\n
\nAfter that, they would \u201cresume operation under the existing court-ordered parenting plan, which otherwise remains in full force and effect until further agreement and\/or modification by this court.”<\/p>\n
