Jack Antonoff has shared details on his proposal to Margaret Qualley<\/p>\n

The Bleachers frontman popped the question to The Maid star on “such a f****** not special night” over a chicken dinner when they were living in Paris in 2022, and the only person he told of his intention was Margaret’s older sibling Rainey.<\/p>\n

Speaking on The Howard Stern<\/a> Show, he said: “I ran into another room and I remember I FaceTimed her sister. I hadn’t told anyone.<\/p>\n

“I was like, ‘I want to ask Margaret to marry me, is that okay?’ And she was like, ‘Yeah.’ “<\/p>\n

Jack wanted Rainey’s permission to propose to Margaret – whose parents are model Paul Qualley and Four Weddings and a Funeral actress Andie MacDowell<\/a> – because he “wanted to do some old-fashioned version” and he went ahead with his plan after she agreed.<\/p>\n

\nHe recalled: “I came back and I could tell that I looked crazy ’cause she looked at me like something was wrong, and I think it’s because I had begun to sweat. <\/p>\n

\n“And all I do is joke, so when I become serious, I think it’s a bit arresting.”<\/p>\n

\nOnce he got down on one knee, the Substance actress realised what was happening and there was a “big scene”, though things didn’t go quite as Jack planned.<\/p>\n

\nHe continued: “At that moment, she kicked back her chair and there was this big scene.<\/p>\n

\nWe have a beautiful picture frame in our house just of the chicken and the chairs all over the place because we kind of both fell to the floor. I cut myself and I did it, but it was so beautiful.<\/p>\n

\n“I had a lot of things I wanted to say, and I got through none of them.”<\/p>\n

\nJack – who married 31-year-old Margaret in August 2023 in front of the likes of Taylor Swift, Channing Tatum, Zo\u00eb Kravitz, Cara Delevingne and Lana Del Rey in New Jersey – knew the “second” he met the Nice Guys actress at a rooftop party in 2021 that he wanted to marry her.<\/p>\n

\nHe said: “I saw her and it was like a f****** Hallmark movie that doesn’t seem believable.<\/p>\n

\n“When I met her, I started imagining things that I’d never even imagined, like marriage.”<\/p>\n

\nAnd the 42-year-old musician knew Margaret’s feelings were mutual – because of her long-held crush on Adam Sandler.<\/p>\n

\nHe said: “You know how I know it’s true Because her crush since she was a kid was Adam Sandler, and I’m not far.<\/p>\n

\n“I think Sandler’s beautiful, so I’m not trying to degrade him in any way. But that to me clarifies that this is real because if you think Adam Sandler is number one sex symbol, then I could be a guy for you.”<\/p>\n
