New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye<\/strong><\/a> broke his silence on head coach Mike Vrabel<\/strong>\u2019s ongoing scandal.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re here for coach, we love coach,\u201d Maye, 23, told a local Boston news outlet<\/a> on Wednesday, April 29. \u201cWhat he\u2019s done for us this past year, you can\u2019t speak into words.\u201d<\/p>\n

The NFL star added, \u201cThankfully, he\u2019s our head coach and I know he\u2019s doing some stuff off the field and out of the coaching world, but we\u2019re here for him and I know he\u2019s gonna come back.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vrabel, 50, has been making headlines alongside sports reporter Dianna Russini<\/strong> after photos of them at a luxury resort<\/a> in Sedona, Arizona, were made public earlier this month. The images, published by Page Six<\/em>, appeared to show the two holding hands amid their respective marriages. (Vrabel has been married to wife Jen since 1999. Russini and Shake Shack executive Kevin Goldschmidt<\/strong> wed in 2020.)<\/p>\n

Both Vrabel and Russini quickly denied that the photos showed anything more than friendship between them.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese photos show a completely innocent interaction and any suggestion otherwise is laughable,\u201d Vrabel told Page Six<\/em>. \u201cThis doesn\u2019t deserve any further response.\u201d<\/p>\n

As more questions emerged about the photos, Russini resigned from her job at The Atlantic<\/em> amid the publication\u2019s investigation<\/a> regarding the situation.<\/p>\n

Vrabel offered a second statement on April 21 ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had some difficult conversations with people that I care about: my family, the organization, the coaches, the players,\u201d Vrabel told reporters. \u201cThose have been positive and productive. We believe in order to be successful on and off the field you have to make good decisions. That includes me. That starts with me. We never want our actions to negatively affect the team. We never want to be the cause of distraction.\u201d<\/p>\n
